I think this may be serious, but its not serious enough yet, possibly after a couple hurricanes!
What do you think about New Orleans, they have been spending all this money to fix/repair what is left of the city, but also they have not yet finished and Hurricane season has arrived. I dont think this is very good, another big storm could possible destroy the area forever. Until big changes are made, but this is only after another huge hurricane!
Also people were so worried about this and how New Orleans is such a big problem due to its under sea level and right in the path of normal hurricanes. I think people need to worry about the millions of fault lines in California and how the possibilty of it sliding into the ocean. California is the most populated sate in the US, this is bad news for everyone if such an event occurs, talk about a huge blow to everyone in the nited States! SHould we be worried about this happening?
Keep in mind that New Orleans is not the only place that got hit by the hurricaine. Other places have it worse, because all the relief went to N.O.
I know but this was mostly the worst hit area due to the population, value and it being under sea level made this such a worried topic, nothing to say about California?
Let's hope the Army Corps of Engineers learns their lesson and doesn't keep trying to build a better Mississippi than God (i.e. stop filling in wetlands, etc.)
Seriously, why would you build a city below sea level, even i know that's retarded and im 15. Dont call me heartless but in all honesty, they should have left New Orleans the way it was after the hurricane, theres more than just new orleans to live in.
ok.... new orleans everyone who died in it deserved to die, they shoulda left. secondly the people who stole the tv's microwaves and what not should also die THERE WAS NO ELECTRICITY WTF ARE U GONNA USE IT FOR mean person. third who cares about cali? i dun think it will sink i think it will float off and that just means less mexicans and cali isn;t gonna be gone off in our life time...
Songo, You could possibly be right about it not happening in our lifetime, but its not really a timed thing. Earthquakes are as random as Volcanoes, If the earthquake was bad enough and sparked a major fault line, babye California. May not happen until way later, but possibly tomorrow. Know what I mean?

Congradulations; you have been officially labeled an idiot. Not every body has cars, not everybody can fit on buses, people stay at thier houses why? They either had no where to go, didn't want thier house to get ransacked by looters or they were physically unable to leave. And about the stealing part, people steal stuff to re-sell it they usually dont go home and use it especially crap like tv's and microwaves during a hurricane, wtf are you thinking. And you cant have a place like california FLOAT? What is going to make it stay up and not under water gnomes? Im not even gonna bother with the mexican part because your an ignorant fool.
CaptainWill: However much you disagree with his opinion (as I do), please don't resort to name-calling.While I wont say they deserved it, as no one in that situation does, I will say they 'had it coming'.
I agree with Kow, and Inspektah-Deck you may wanna lighten up on what you said about his post, ya he might be wrong but Its his oppinion, calling him an idiot isnt very smart! You may get warned!
I'd just like to point out that the number of class 4-5 hurricanes has doubled in the past 35 years.
Doubled, just like so many other ecological problems recently. If I lived on the south east area I'd move up and inland a bit.
Every natural disaster has basically gone up due to global warming, the current of the ocean is what controls the weather! The heating up of the ocean changes this current! Global Warming is silently killing us!
I don't think blizzards have gone up, if they constitute as a natural disaster.
They don't usually do, unless they're extremely bad. Sort of like thunderstorms.
But that is the opposite of global warming, if anything they would probably go down, because warmer isnt better for snow! Normally people dont think that a degree warmer isnt that bad, but if Maines average temperature goes down 2 degrees it would have the same average temperature of New Jersey, they dont get as much snow down there as up here! It would change everything everywhere!

Yes, and just like DTBK said that Blizzards dont really qualify as a natural disaster! Maybe you should read other than just the top posts before posting.
