Not sure if this would work but, place a unit somewhere where only a maphacker could see it that crashes the game?

That is the basic principle. However, it depends on what unit you use. All of the unused units, such as cantina and cave, will crash, as will the markers, turrets, and other misc stuff. Check out old threads; this was discussed numerous times already.

Or you could do the classic, ye olde-way:

1. Place invincible siege tank in siege mode on a small, remote piece of land surrounded by impassable terrain.
2. Place missile turret owned by an enemy on higher ground next to the siege tank.
3. Make the siege tank have higher attack than the turret has HP.
3. Use trigger:
Trigger
Players:
¤ Computer player who is enemy of Hacking Player
Conditions:
¤ Computer Player brings 0 Terran Missile Turret at 'Higher ground next to Siege tank.'
Actions:
¤ End scenario in defeat for Hacking Player.

This works because only someone who is map hacking can see the turret, which will make the tank destroy it.

Make me a map where that would work, and I'll pay you $50. (No photoshop this time, Doom biggrin.gif)

But you wanna know why it won't work? You can see the turret, but your tank won't attack. MHs don't change anything, just what you can see.

I suggest looking through the topics Noober provided happy.gif, then you'll eventually find an answer you like.

Did you order the tank to attack? Because it shouldn't attack by itself.

No, I didn't.

I tried that method of anti-hacking with the tank. It doesn't work.

In your screenshot, you put the turret so darn close to the edge you don't need a maphack to see it. Also, you aren't even maphacking in the screenshot, you placed a revealer. Revealers allow you to shoot up the cliff, but maphacks recognize that you normally cannot see up the cliff.

Basically... http://www.staredit.net/index.php?tutorial=2

Note that independent command center and many disabled units do not crash you if you are running inhale.

ai that thing with the tank didnt work:D wtf r u talking about?

As for how to do this, its a preety simple thing, i dont even see how ur having problems with this, just put a sprite in a place where the players cant see it. I know there was a certain sprite i used, but normally in my maps, i want everybody to see everything:D so I forgot which ones were the right ones. Experiment and find out

Start the map centering in an area that is normally inable to be gotten too. Disable a unit that crashes the map, but don't have that part of the map. If/when this does not work read the tutorial.

crash... put some freaked up unit that would crash the game, some corner where only a maphacker could see, or use the basic tank one, thats what i usually use, and its easier, plus crashes starcraft doesnt do much, the person is just gonna log back on... it doesnt harm anyone

The cliff thing doesn't work. Disabled units don't work.

Use a Protoss Marker.

I'd just like to point out to those who mentioned "crash the map."
Most hacks these days (at least the privately used ones), come equipped with anti-crash (hence crashing methods will not work). Whitlst, many public map hacks are pure garbage. Gg.

As a side note, I don't use map hacks, don't point fingers at me. xD...

Try turning off vision for the player, and then placing an enemy unit and a unit owned by that player in a tiny box not visible.

Set that enemy unit to ally to the player, and if the player gets vision to the unit, the unit will attack. O_o... do it so that the player's unit and the enemies unit cannot move and make it so that they are pretty much forced to kill.... Do it in many areas if you'd like and always issue command for the player's unit to attack.

I just wanna add that if you have a seiged tank and a queens nest, with a wall inbetween it, and you have black sheep wall or something, it attacks...

As see in Mutiliated Puppet's AITD maps.

That's just like the tank one; it won't work.

That's because black sheep wall actually makes the whole map revealed for you, sort of like placing map revelealers everywhere. Map hacks don't.

I wouldn't know about newer hacks, sure I may have used hacks when I played in Melee games against bots with my friends, as I always found it interesting to watch the bot work, but that was in 1.10, and 1.10 hacks revealed the whole map and took away fog... or atleast the one I had did.

All map hacks can do that, or they wouldn't be map hacks. All they do is allow you to see everything, but it doesn't change what you already explored. It doesn't explore the whole map for you. Think of it this way: Say you're surrounded by walls. Everytime you walk forward, the wall disappears. This is like exploring new areas in SC. If you type in "black sheep wall", all the walls disappear, meaning you've just "explored" everywhere and made all the walls disappear. However, a maphack simply changes the walls to say, windows. You can see through them, but it's still a wall, meaning you haven't explored it yet.

Get it?
