Staredit Network -> Terrain -> Building a Rock Library
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Jello-Jigglers on 2006-07-06 at 21:42:35
Well, just thought I'd build a 'rock library' so they can be used as doodads or space fillers. Here's what I came up with, see if you can find more.

I believe Wooden had an entire map filled with custom Rocky Ground. I think it was in his thread where he put all the different maps...

In which editor? Scmd2 or sf?

ADDITION:
k, i checked the custom rocky dirt file wooden had attached to his map compilation, but there wasn't anything too impressive... Just lots of different arrangments for rocky dirt and some near the bottom of tiles that (i think he thinks) would look good alone... Nothing that really fits into this catagory. Common, does anyone else have any?

You can check the tile numbers in SCMD

Go to debuge, then enable debug, then check the one that says:

Display tile values

[attachmentid=20302]

The green numbers are the tiles numbers. The place my mouse is is where to turn on those numbers

Tight! I have to check that out! smile.gif

ADDITION:
How come it shows every other row? or is that doing the left side is the x and the right side is the y like this x.y? Idk what is going on, but I think sf does it better... Instead of getting all of the #"s in sf, I'll just post the brushes. That will be easier. tongue.gif

ADDITION:
Brushes of Rocks:

jk you cant do that i guess...

ADDITION:
Yay WinZip!!! Here are the brushes:

[attachmentid=20306]

Sucks that you have to unzip it, but its the only way if you want them... yawn.gif

The top number is the left tile, the bottom number is the right tile:

CODE
x
y

So it looks like:

CODE
1.1
1.2

At least I can read them bleh.gif

Sure thing. I think we already went over this, but I decided for everyone that makes terrain that it isn't your terrain if you piece the tiles together, it's still blizzards. I'll add a quote to make my point.

QUOTE
terrain = owned by blizzard

The reason you cant copy right dirt is cause you didn't invent it(nor can it be created, but still...) Since you didn't make the tiles for the terrain, the terrain isn't yours. It's like drawing Jesus and copywriting Him as yours... It just can't be done. Anyways, my ten cents is up...
