Hey, I was wondering if anyone have any ideas for some kind of Island hopper, Mass, diplo/stragety type of games. Becuase I was thinking of making some kind of game of that sort, where you use more air units than ground units, but I need some ideas so yea. If you do just tell me becuase im very interested into making one.
thsi could be good if it was like a zone control type map, mixed with that chain of command, which was really fun. get points by holding islands that have invincible turrets and turrets switch owner to whoever controls more units on the island ...could be very good
I had an idea sort of like this... Never implemented it though.
It would work sort of like galactic conquest in BattleFront 2, a turn based game where you can send fleets to enemy islands and try to take them over, and you can buy different units to use and such.
They all sound like a good ideas, i want my map to be simpe and easy so anyone can pick it up. And also make everyone pretty much the same when they start out and have more stragety than anything... Thanks for the ideas

Maybe have something like room wars? That is...if you've played room wars. Every room spawns a unit, sometimes they spawn a special unit. The point of the game is to control a certain amount of room, or kill all your opponents. Put this into an island type of thing, and you've got it.
a feature to implement into such a game would be defense networks. you'd have three types - air(turrets, spores colonies), ground(sunken colonies), and mixed(bunkers, photons). you'd have each peon unit represent a defense network. in the center of each island would be a beacon. you'd bring a peon to there and it'd create its respective defense network in the center of the island. the defenses would be vincible, but could be replaced when the island was cleared of enemies and a new peon brought there.
I guess, I will make some kind of muta island + Risk type of game. Okay thanks for the ideas.
Hmm...I just got your message RedNara. I don't know if I'm entering the contest either..but anyway..For the idea: well, you could use square terrain (Starforge or SCMDraft Editor), and have a bunch of triggers like this:
Bring Unit1 to Location
Bring 0 building location (opponent)
Bring 0 building location (you)
Remove Unit1 at location
Giveunit Building (owned by neutral)
