Hi i'm currently working on a new madness map. I've just finished the trigger edit but I'm having a hard time trying to balance the units
take a look and tell me how can I improve It.
PS. This is like any madness map but I added a new feature. Every player can buy special units called ''strikers'' just by stepping on the appropiate beacon with 50 minerals. Minerals are constantly being added to all players', It's just a matter of wait.
I hope someone beats you with a switch. Good luck on the map though, good theme I suppose. Just make sure it's balanced by making all the units almost the same, it's almost impossible I suppose to make a good balanced Masser : /.
I looked at the map, and what I think is that it's pretty basic like any other madness map. Sure, it's genuine in it's own way, but it's not original, if you get what I mean.
Now, to balance out the units...be careful on zealots and firebats, for their attacks double in the game. For I.E., if you set the attack to 20, the attack ingame will be an accumulated total of 40.
Also, for splash units: Firebats hit once per units; so, it'll be 40 damage (assuming you set the attack to 20), 30 damage to the next unit, 20 to the next, ect. So, Firebats will have an advantage and be able to kill more units faster than other units, so set some units to double damage, thus...equalizing it to the power of the Firebat.
It's hard to balance the unit, especially since there's armor and splash and units countering units better than others; and six players! Use trail-and-error, set the units points one way, and then test it continusally. With a lot of patience, and alot of paper and a pencil sharperner, you'll be able to crack the code and balance the units to your liking, and everyone else's liking.
