I vote Half-life 1 series with Counter-Strike and Counter-Strike Condition Zero, I prefer Condition Zero because it doesn't have no recoil like Source does but source is more realistic compared to all the other stuff. Condition Zero is almost Hack-Free meaning there are a very low percent of hackers compared to all the other games. Counter-Strike however is the probably where most people hack at. Half-Life2 I vote more than Half-life1 for being more realistic and better quality.

I just really like the stuff the source engine adds. For one, better graphics, but also ragdolls, the ability to create crude barricade, much better grenade physics, etc.

Source engine doesn't run on my trash so I vote for Half-Life, CS and CZ.

I vote for counterstrike 1.6-_-;

I personally like 1.6 the best, and no Recoil makes it to easy.

Only pros for Source is the graphics, go CS 1.6!

There's enough recoil on Source. It's more realistic that way - you know, with the insanely better physics (as Source is primarily a physics engine over a graphics engine). Source has decent anti-hacker support, but the best solution is an admin, of course. And of course, it's prettier. I've had no trouble with either Source or 1.6, and I play Source because it's more fun (and highest graphics still give new games a run for their money). Also, Half-Life 2 is better (amazingly) than the original, and Day of Defeat Source (you forgot to mention that!) looks much nicer too, though I've not played it.

I hope DoD:Source has good graphics becuase I have regular DoD and when I was holding like a kinfe.. his hand looked like a foot lol.

I play Day of Defeat: Source more than any other game right now, but I love CS: S and DoD: S the most, so I'll go with HL2/All source

and buying a pricey game with less mods

Source for the win. You've got graphics, you've got physics, you've got the ability to laugh at people who have puny computer (I can smell the problems coming from this, too). And if it's more newb friendly, then there's less undeserved free-kills. XD

Source actually has more hackers now than 1.6... Most people on top of pubs are either ex1.6 players or hackers(People with a 7 digit steam id or more are most likely hackers). I have friends in a hacking clan called myg0t and they have moved from making 1.6 hacks to making undetectable hacks in Source.

Source should be still in it's beta stage btw... I do enjoy playing Source to make pub n00bs feel bad and completely destroy their clan server.

I thoroughly enjoy both subsets. I loved CS 1.6 but I don't have it. Source is all I have, so that's what I play.

My DOD:S always crashes on me after that gay "optimization" patch.
