Storyline

Taking one of his father's most charished swords, Maxus set out for the Kingdom of Antara to train with its newly created Armed Guard, but little did he know that it would be many years before he arrived in Antara. A week away from his home, Maxus was getting weary about his voyage and was becoming more and more ashamed for him not being there when his father was in dire need. Soon Maxus began training alongside dwarves, elves, and even gnomes to perfect the art of melee combat and became a disciplined warrior. As the years passed, he became the land's toughest, quickest, most revered fighter that his skill with a sword approached that of the power of magic. When at last he arrived in Antara, nearly 3 years after he left his home, his skill was beyond those that he had hoped to learn from. Antara needed heroes to defeat a demon bent on the Kingdom's destruction. With his sword at the ready, Maxus stood more willing to fight more than he wanted to live.

  • Maxus -

    "Far north of Antara across the Black Sea, a young knight lost his father to death in battle on the island of Pelor. He would hear the tale with thanks for many years to come, how his father had encountered a fierce demon, holding it at bay allowed many warriors to escape into the night safely, losing his own life in the effort. The grief and gratitude of the survivors and their families made a great impression upon the young knight, and deeply entangled his conviction and hatred that evil must be stopped at all costs, even if that cost be his very own life!"

Looks cool, just two things.

1. I'm guessing we'll figure this out in the map, but why is his father in dire need?

Nah Lyon, nobody is helping me on this, just like any other map I do its all by me.

empty, his father was in dire need "of his son" because he was there all by himself just like it said in the story. cool1.gif But since his son was too young he was in dire need of help. wink.gif

So are you gonna have music in it? Also how are you going to be using the spell system? Gateway, beacon, or transport?

Yup I am going to have music in it, and the spell system will be thought of(don't worry happy.gif) The Dropship system is for the use of Items. Beacon = old school, way too slow. Gateway will probably be for something else that I will look upon. biggrin.gif

biggrin.gif Well if I work on this everyday a little bit at a time, I could estimate a release date for a demo around the end of August. ^_^ But I could be wrong, the date could be earlier as in tomorrow(wink.gif) or the date could be later, it just depends on how much I work on it which will hopefully be quite some time after I finish my map for the Map Making Contest. crazy.gif

yeh it takes time to make a good map. i'd like to play the demo, even if its small, as id like to see where you are going with this. if u can invent something original, im sure your map will gain respect fast, regardless of the overall gameplay. hey im going for the map making contest as well, with my game of virtual Poker. aiming to make a classic.
