Here was a little idea that I thought I could pull off, so I thought I would try it, so far, I've only been able to get it down to 2 sprites, but I'm still working on it. Well, here's the pic:

[attachmentid=20079]

Still minor blockiness, but its ok...

Rate and Comment why please smile.gif

matters what its for, if its just a random place where u cant mine in melee then its 6-10 but nothing good for a ums map

There's a little thingy above the high low dirt on the right side that's confusing me... And in the right corner of the water theres a little line where you didn't do the isom properly. That, and your 2 tree sprites look sort of weird where they are... I dunno why, they sort of just look out of place to me.

Overall - 8.5/10

Oh i see, the .jpg kind of blurs pics, but it did have a purpose... It was supposed to look like an old bone or horn that didn't erode with the backside of that land mass. I guess that would look pretty sweet if i got a screenshot of a room like that smile.gif . next up!

ADDITION:
Well I made the room pretty repetitive, but it began as like a midevil(i know its spelled wrong) jail or something, but ended as something like a cavern or cave with stalagmites(ter'mites' walk on the ground) and stalactites(stalac'tites'' have to hold tight to the ceiling or they will fall tongue.gif ). Anyways, different than I wanted, but still pretty cool looking.

Anyways, rate this if you will smile.gif .

The little "things" he made? Those are called sprites. Blizzard made them.

Oh and also those sprites look horrid on that tileset, the colors are completely distorted and they don't properly blend with the ground.

I casually ignored those because it would have taken away the blunt, harshness of my post. Those things are cool, I recently discovered those myself while messing around with that one doodad trying to see what I could get from it. Rantent said he had found that tile combination a long time ago.

The tiny little horn things are ugly though.

I think they are ugle only if they are in the wrong setting... In the middle of a field persay, ugly, in a cave with stalagmites and stalactites, not too shabby. Even though they arent perfect, they are better than placing 5 or so more sprites(the ones you say dont fit in tongue.gif ).

ADDITION:
I thought the sprites that 'look horrid on that tileset' might look better with an under-water approach. So I slapped on some other effects in a more traditional area(regular isometric). Here's What I got:

I think you need more pylon aura sprites, because you can still see the brown,
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Jello-Jigglers on 2006-07-20 at 10:52:23
That's as dark as it gets... Any ratings inspektah?

ADDITION:
Actually, I think I got it a little darker, but it was like 15 more sprites...

The fog of war is distorted from all of the pylon auras, so there isn't anything I can do...

Pretty good, its nice and simple.

Yeah.. If you have blocky doodads and such, it probably wouldn't even show up if you did this underwater effect. smile.gif

This is some good terrain, but I just don't like it. (My tastes and opinions)
I'd rate it a 5/10 though. Quality, not quantity with terrain tongue.gif
