I don't know how, because I'm slightly retarded, and it would be useful if someone showed me how to have a critter hold position doing triggers. I have just a basic version of StarEdit Emerald so I don't have a bunch of fancy things, nor would I know how to use them, so any simple way of doing so would help.
it should be the same as any other unit, just move(not order) them to invalid terrain(water, cliff, etc). for the kakaru, accodring to kenoli, you would move them to stacked, lifted terran buildings - i haven't been able to do this, so i'm nto so sure about it.
One time I had critters naturally stay put due to the state of their owner... unused or neutral, I forget. Most likely zeratul's method is what will fit your map best.

Computer controlled critters don't wander.
Thank you, I'll try both methods to see what works!
Well, I tried both... and neither of 'em worked. I can't set the critter to a player unit, nor will it remain positioned if I try and move the critter to unmoveable terrain. Any help?

did you set them to 'move,' not 'order'?

They both work.
Neither of those methods work.
Critters will wander no matter who the player is. What you have to do is create them via triggers, without any unit properties. You may then set them to invincible with another action. You may not give them between players or their AI will update and they will wander again.Just pre-place them for a computer player.

Yes, I used the Move Unit trigger...
And as I said, I can't place them for anything else than the default neutral player. I don't have a program that lets me do that.
so, you on a mac? if you move all critters for all players, it should still work.
That's what I did. I'll try a few more times. ¬.¬
upload your map/show us your trigs?

Try
one of the following: SCMDraft2, Starforge, or SCXE.
I don't have the time/am too lazy right now to up load everything, but I will later.
And as for those programs, none of them work for me. I have Mac OS X 10.1.. and the SCM Draft I saw was for 10.2.. :/
If you use StarFire Edit, it automatically gives critters for computer players.
