I've been trying to for an hour (no exaggeration) trying to protect my map... unsuccessfuly. First I used proedit which made my map ketp crashing on me. Next I used Uberation... opening my map up in Uberation then saving it will protect my map successfully... however it will make my map's size surge up to 3000kb! If I use uberate then save, it will make my map only 25kb but none of the music works. If I don't use any program at all, the music works perfectly and the map is only 800kb. What is going on?
What version of Uberation are you using? Uberation 2.0.0.9 works for me and Uberation 3 can be iffy.
I used Uberationv3. Maybe i'll go cry the other version.
ADDITION:
Sindustries is still crying and begging first help.
Uberation3 crashes on me when I try to use it. I suggest uberation 2. I actually find that compress + uberate with uberation2 actually makes a map MORE stable.
EDIT: Click the little "edit" button whenever you want to edit something, you don't have to make a new post.

ADDITION:
I used the compress + uberate. It makes my map 2777 or so kb. Not bad. But why did it increase in size? WTF.
ADDITION:
Ah screw it. I'm just going to jump off a building instead. Bye.
ADDITION:
Oh and thanks for your help.
ADDITION:
Well if anybody cares, I found the old GUEdit and protected it successfully and it actually decreased the file size. I don't know if I've been doing anything wrong when I used Uberation or if the size increase was intended in order to protect the map. If I have done something wrong, please reply. Thanks.
GUEdit is very insecure protection.
When you use uberation2, try compressing the map first, and then protecting it. Or if that doesnt work protect it without compressing. You might also want to change your sound compression settings. Have you tried everything?
Uberation3 can be a little buggy at times, but it worked for us all the times we tested it.
If it really comes down to it, you could PM your map and I could see how I could do with protecting it.
i used proedit it worked dont know why it didnt work for u but, maybe its the map thats crashing u? something in it...
ADDITION:
i use proedit version.1.4.1
It's not that I don't like the security and all, but there is no need to protect your maps now. Ever since OSMap came out, there is no safe protection method, except to post it up to as many sites as possible, so if anybody does steal your map, many people will know who the original author is.
OSMAP isn't even known by 1% of the B.net population. So your map is still safe from the average map stealer/rigger.
No comment except for this,
Yeah it sucks to know that on this internet people will always be dishonest or just take the fun away from things like rigging a unit to the maximum or hex editing.

As for OSMap, it doesn't work as well as they claim. (Trust me. My friend tried it on a few maps entirely unsuccessfully.)
It's a good idea to post it on several sites, of course. One method I like to use is name the file something entirely outlandish, something you would know to be your map, but someone else would mistake for a different map that they DLed a long time ago (something like, FAMILY GUY MADNESS 2!!!!) The only problem is that the map won't really be distributed, but it's good for testing on Battle.net. I have problems with protection as well... But for now, don't worry too much about OSMap.
