Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> [SOLVED] Problem with StarForge
Report, edit, etc...Posted by JamesXY on 2006-07-18 at 07:28:09
I have unfinished map made in StarForge editor. Now I have 2 big problems. The first one: If I want to edit some trigger, all values in "" wil delete and i cannot save trigger without empty "" values. Also i cannot rename units - same problem. This starting in half of making map. The second problem: One of my WAIT values in trigger in not working well. I have action "Wait(15000);", but in starcraft is waiting time much longer, even i set Wait value to 1. If i delete all Wait acion, nothing is not waiting...but is I set toany time, it is waiting very long.
Please help me. I cant finish my map without this. helpsmilie.gif Thanks!

i think you over loaded the default string limit.
there should be an option somewhere that you can make a custom number of strings that you can add.

With your strings, I'd first off recommend opening the map with Uberation and selecting "Recycle Strings," hit ok, "Remove Unused," hit ok. That will have the same string used if the same line of text is used multiple times. If you still have too many, start deleting trigger comments.

For your waits problem, this would be the result of wait blocks. Multiple waits running for the same player would cause this. If you move the trigger you're having trouble with to the top of the trigger order, it will work fine, but most likely another trigger with waits will mess up instead. Just use counters (for example, deaths) to time your pauses.

Uberation 3

Uberation3 sometimes does not work for some people, including myself. If not, get uberation2; I tested the strings manager with this program to make my previous post, so it works as well.

Uberation 3 does not work, but Uberation 2 works great. Really thanks! :-)

Now only to resolve that problem with WAIT...

As it has been said, your problem is being caused by wait blocks. Wait blocks occur when two or more waits are running for the same player at the same time, causing the waits to multiply in observed length. Remove one of the waits that is causing the block and things should work.
