* Controller will use AA batteries.

* Will use Bluetooth on a 2.4GHz bandwith to communicate with the console.
* Features 6KB of "non-volatile" memory, possibly for speaker?

30-60 Hours? How do you get a range that big? I guess it depends on use.

It depends on what battery you use too.

"If the precision aim functionality of the pointer is being used in games, the device will run for approximately 30 hours. If only the accelerometer functionality is being utilized, the Wii-mote will operate for 60 hours on two AA batteries."

I'm going to get some rechargable batteries, that's like 5 days and it wont work for me tongue.gif

I think Snipe is just one of thoes PS fanboys.. You know how they are... and why did you say etc...? there arent any other game companies that come close to the big 3. If you think about it and put aside all your ps fanboyness, the Wii will probably outsell sony and microsoft due to the price factor. Sony just wanted to beat everyone so badly that they added too much crap in and now the price is outrageous plus 3rd party companies are having a hard time making games for the ps software because it is damn expensive. I can't wait to see who sells the most.

Because of the uniqueness of the controller, the price, and the way they are trying to market the console to everybody (not just hardcore gamers), I think the Wii will definitely be the top of the 3. I know I'm going to buy one!

That's not saying much, there's only 3 consoles if it gets third like it did last generation then it's nothing great. But nintendo said if the Wii does do better then the Gamecube then they've failed, good determination dudes.

30-60 hours is insane, I'm not sure how long my XBox controller lasts though, I'll check it sometime, I think it's like 25 hours or something.

Consider that you play for 5 days straight.

I think either wii and 360 will be pretty close. The 360 has a year on the wii.

Crap. 30 - 60 hours? ill be spending a fortune on batteries now.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Golden-Fist on 2006-07-19 at 12:11:01
What do you mean a fortune?
Ps2 wireles controllers last like 12 hours for 2 double AA batteries, this is a good thing it can last so long. And a pack of 24 batteries costs like 10 bucks, you'll be fine.

What happens if you have 4 controllers and use them at the same time xD

Then you use batteries four times as fast, obviously. And 30-60 hours is a long time. There are games that last less than 30 and an "epic RPG" will likely take under 60. Smash Bros. Brawl will eat those batteries right up, though--except that "precision aiming" probably isn't one of its features.

Then you're using 8 batteries, which is still better then four 12 hour long lasting wireless ps2 controllers. There's going to be a rechargeable battery if you're bothered that much, just buy that instead.

30-60 hours sounds pretty good for a wireless controller. I'm old school though, I like the cords.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by dumbducky on 2006-07-19 at 16:58:22
It'd probably get in the way of all the swinging and stuff. Having a cord flapping around would get annoying, so wireless is a smarter choice.

I think Nintendo should bundle a recharging station in with each Wii, along with bundling a rechargable battery with each "wiimote." Everybody I've talked to is definitely going to buy a Wii, and they are the people who are the avid Sony fans (who will probably skip out on buying a PS3, unless FFVII is rereleased). Me? Well... I <3 my PC. It's funny how Sony is making the PS3 so much more expensive by getting 10-20% yields on their Cell processors (more cores = more difficulty), especially when the Cell isn't that powerful to begin with. Oh God, why am I talking about next-gen consoles?

Yah, I would also like rechargable batteries. But rechargables do eventually hold less of a charge to the point where they can't get a more than a few hours of use out of the battery.
