I have came up with a new idea for a diplo like map. Its set in a wasteland of the future. Old buildings, Crumbling buildings. The idea at first is to pick your Leader for you Clan and each leader has his own powers. Like one leader his power is for every man you own you get 1 minerals a second which is Food. Food is currency in these times. Another leaders power is like he gets 2 soldiers per every one you build. I will try to balance the powers of course. But you can't build an object if you dont have enough food, or metal and of course the parts. Like to build a tank you will need to Find Treads and lots of metal and need alot of food since a tank takes alot of people to feed to build. Once you find treads somewhere on the map you dont haft to find anymore treads b/c you know how to build them now by studing them. You get more metal and food by capturing old factorys or farm land. I will add more ideas i have later but what do you all think of this idea. You also can gain food by raiding your oppenents farms and you can get metal by destroying your enemys tanks but you can not gain treads or stuff like that by destroying an enemys vehicle.
To me this sounds like it could either be alot of fun or be less fun the hugging a cactus naked. If you manage to balance it out and make it easy to understand, it could be great.
How will unit creation work? Will it be LOTR style?
Unit Creation will come from capturing Barrax which will be protoss gateway i dont like hassle of the lifting then respawing for terran barrax. And it will be Diplo style not LotR. I will have 10 clans with each there own leader with a power.

Iron Fist Clan Leader: JH-92[Droid]-Power of Metal(Gain more metal per turn from factorys)
Den Clan Leader: Marc Jakal-Power of Cannibalism(+2 Food from all enemy Inf killed.)
Benedict Clan Leader: Arnold Benedict-Power of The Traitor(TBD)
Darkness Clan Leader: (TBD)
Desert Fox Clan Leader: Rommel-Power of Strategy(TBD)

Food and Metal... This is more liek Age Of Empies then Diplo (Which is a good thing) If some1 recreated diplomacy AGAIN i would shoot myself. This could be fun o_O if u do it right.
But Age Of Empires was a little pain in the ass. For instance if u wanted to build a dock u would need wood obviously and gold? what are u gonna do with gold? So im just saying if u want to make a house i doubt u will need food.

Should i have it like diplo where you get your money at end of timer or should i hate it where you haft to mine your resources like minerals bunch is crops and vespene factory is a melting plant to get metal???? and this way i could have the plants and farms run out of stuff untill later where new minerals and plants refill with vespene
Don't do just regular mining like starcraft, everybody knows that. You could go with the diplo idea or make up your own system.

put a ppl happiness level in that opens up new abilities/disabilities for leaders. i think u should not put normal mining in. u could make it
