In my opinion I'm pretty good with trigs, I know my way around starforge, and I have a good deal of experience. So Obviuosly i'm not an Average map maker. However I also feel like I am not an advanced mapmaker because I dont understand some things fully. (like wait blocks.) Or disabling units and whatnot.
What I'm getting at is that there should be a category betwixt Begginer and Average, and one between Average and Advanced.
Or maybe a rating between 1 and 10, that would really accurately portray one's skill level.

Same here. A simple rating system would be nice. Maybe give the ratings labels, for visual appeal. Like:
1 (Super Newb)
2 (Beginner)
3 (Rookie)
4 (Getting there)
5 (Average)
6 (Knows a few tricks)
7 (Well versed in Staredit)
8 (Advanced)
9 (Expert)
10 (Master)

The system is designed to allow people whom give feed back to know how to word there response. A beginner will not benefit from a reply telling them how to do something if the response has a lot of information about wait blocks or death counters.
Also a beginner will need to see the trigger written out more often, when and advanced person may just understand a trigger in abbreviated sentence form.
The system isn't designed to rank our mapmakers, it is to benefit them. A lot of people get irritated when someone puts down a higher level than they really are. But I know that many people overestimate there own skills and call themselves “advanced” or “expert” long before I would, it doesn't bother me.
I find it unlikely that Yoshi will make the rank anymore detailed than it is. If it was on a 1-10 scale you would only see a lot more people misrepresenting there skills.

I guess that makes me an advanced mapmaker because I've understood everything I have read on this website. I feel weird calling myself advanced but now the system makes sense to me. Its all about what trigger lingo to use...

I think that the 3 levels is a good system. Afterall it is not for say "Look, I'm in level 8, better than you!", it is for get more or less help when asking a question, so 3 levels of answers is a good number.

maybe we should add braggin to part of the garbage section 
neways i was thinking you should reset everyones level down to 1 and they can choose what rank they are or they can take a quiz that will have them answer questions and depending on the number of write answers we will find out what rank they are at... of course the quetsions would have 2 be randomfied so that the same questions arnt asked over and over agian

If you are a begginer and you choose Advanced for be "cool" its not better for you, you will get less help and everybody will notice very fast that you are begginer and not advanced, so the best is select the right level.
Sama: Not everybody knows everything, what will happen if you know all the answers but two, and you need that answer just that two and viceversa? Its not a really good idea.
