[Review]
I'm not expecting this map to be a big HIT, but I
wanted to release something to make up for my
recent failure of my World of Poker map I was
making. I mastered the triggering in single player,
but there was a glitch in multiplayer I couldn't solve.
However, I may go back to World of Poker at
a later date.
[Feedback]
I have finished all the triggering. All I need is some
more questions from you guys. Here is my latest
progress.
Starcraft----------52/52 questions
Science----------40/40 questions
History----------16/40 questions
Mathematics----------44/44 questions
Geography----------28/40 questions
World Games----------40/40 questions
As you can see, I've finished all the Starcraft questions,
but I could do with some ideas for the other categories.
Thanks.
Hows it going to work... like true/false or like you got 4 answers and u choose the right 1?
yeh, its a mutliple choice game. you have 2 answers to choose from each question. this may sound like a 50/50 deal, right? yes, thats why i have a system which deducts points from the player if the question is answered incorrectly. this stops players from randomly guessing. but thinking about it, i should have built 4 options. little too late now though, ive built all the triggering.
lol... k! ><!! Is the terrain sexy.. i wanna see Screenshots!!!
Did you drop the world of poker map?

Yah im guessing thats wat.... that means! ><!!
This seems awsome. The usual trivia games are always the same questions, and those other question games arent even worth mentioning. Hope this one is better and fixed than ur other map. Also how are you going to do the answering questions system? By gateway, dropship or beacon?
i have the answering system working beautifully. every time a question is generated, the question sets a death counter, depending on the correct answer. so if you take your unit to location 1, and location 1 death counter is set to 1, you will score points. you have 10 seconds to answer the question. if you answer within 3 seconds, you score 100 points. then, the longer you take, the less points you are able to score.

Let me generate a question. Did you stop world of poker?
yes, i have currently stopped world of poker. i mastered the triggering for single player, with over 1500 triggers, but there is a glitch in multiplayer i haven't figured out yet. i will return to world of poker at a later date, and fix the multiplayer problems. however, in the meantime, i want to make some other maps, such as this basic concept, trivial pursuit. im also thinking about starting production on a drug dealing game. sorry for the bad news, but if you are curious as to how much progress i actually made with world of poker, i can send you the map, and you can see how powerful the system is in single player.
how far off finishing are u?
im about 99% finished! i just have to research 36 more questions, as i have a total of 220/256. i should complete it in the next couple of days. Will I be the first person to release an educational map?

I do believe your system is powerful! I'm not curious how much progress you did I'm curious with that mulitplayer bug. That's exactly what I fear when I enter the next map making contest because maybe the map works in singleplayer but not in multiplayer.

thanks. ive spent alot of time researching good questions. i don't intend this map to be a major hit, but i do expect some good feedback, since ive created a 256 binary system, which makes every game different.

thanks. you just gotta learn from your mistakes i guess, and make your best efforts to create reliable, well structured triggers. i think the main problem is, single player has no latency issues, and multiplayer does, so you have to compensate for the lag with a very well formulated programming structure.
That Screenie looks nice. The ONLY thing that I don't like in this map is that there are only two options per question. But, maybe thats a good thing?
yeah i regret not making 4 options. i started this map as an experiment, without giving much thought about the overall gameplay. i could modify it to 4 options, but it would take about 20 hours of triggering modifications.
I read about your problems with the map how is that going?
yeah well i was having problems with starforge. i still can't understand what was going on with it, but i am fiinishing off the triggering in SCE lol. i have all the colours in place, all i have to do is throw in another 30 questions, which im still researching.
What do you need help on the questions? I can help...
yeah well i need another geography topic consisting of 12 questions, and 2 more history topics, consisting of 20 questions. i try to aim for about 10 questions per topic, and there are about 4 topics per category. any ideas?
I'm going to start my Freshman year at High School next week, so I don't know what level you want these questions on... Like Elementary, Middle School, High School, or College?
intermediate. i have questions like,
QUOTE
What is the capital of italy?
QUOTE
How many sides does a heptagon have?
QUOTE
In the human body, where is the ciliary muscle?
QUOTE
In a game of Snooker, how many points is the pink ball worth?
i guess, the kind of stuff you learn in high school.
Yeah, because I don't know any of that stuff! Lol.
What happend to this map?
