Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> [SOLVED]Ememies Don't Attack, Just Run...

So for a while, in all of my maps i have been noticing that when i tell an enemy computer player to "attack" from loc1 to loc2, the will not attack anything inbetween the two locations.

They do attack however, if i attack them.

What can I do to fix this?

I believe using the "Patrol" order will make ordered computers more aggressive.

I'd say thats the truth nothing to believe in. When I tested all 3 commands (move, patrol, attack).

-move didnt attack at all only if there was no way to go through (blocked way).
-attack attacked back if I attacked them (and rarely they also attacked no matter what).
-patrol pretty much like attack should be I guess (sure best to use).

and I'd say it makes a difference if you use hypertriggers or not. I'd rather not use them if not needed.

i tried using patrol...but they would only start attacking close to the 2nd location, but they wouldn't attack anywhere else except near the "end" point. I dont know why....

I dont have hypertriggers. infact, i only have the ATTACK/PATROL command 1 time when they spawn.

I got why it doesn't work as it should for you. Make 1 big location where they are running and set a trigger on it with patrol 2.

like having 3 locations one for start, then patrol from start to big location where theyre running then from big location to end.

This should fix your problem.

Maybe, i tried that before, but i always thought the constant ordering to attack would cancel the actual function of attacking.. ill try that.

ADDITION:
NVM... thread solved... i switched to patrol for all the orders except i forgot to switch the trigger to patrol to the location i was actually TESTING....

I fixed it, it works, thanks.

This is why you use patrol wink.gif And it would be way worse with hypers.

Addition:

You just solved it when I posted this. Nice to hear that.
