well basically it depends on your level of map making. if you are capable of neat tricks that could make cool affects then ya the better the "movie". so basically its the Display Text, wait actions which are used for story and all. then create unit, remove unit, kill unit, order unit, move unit, play wav too make the ideal Movie feeling. if that wasnt too clear or you need more then that just say

Ensure you are able to make the units act in a way that you want them that relies solely on triggers, meaning no player intervention. First you should review some movie maps, out of which I recommend Battle.net Experience.

The easiest way to do it is first plan a script. Figure out which units to use for each character. Then think of how you want to present each scene you write (i.e. location, terrain, etc.).

Next comes the technical part. Think about using one switch per scene. For example is you say Switch 2 is Scene 3, then when Switch 2 is cleared (when Scene 2 ends, that is), you can set Switch 3 (Scene 3) and have it center the player's view at a new location.

Next think about the dialogue. Do you want it to be in a displayed text message which is rather plain or do you want it to be a transmission which has a circle around the speaker and shows the unit's image in the "image slot?"

Finally put together the triggers remembering that each switch acts as a scene marker in the conditions.

And as suggested earlier, look at other movie maps for examples.

i disagree with that. it's much more effective if you use a single DC. 2 D = scene 2, 3 d = scene 3 etc. it reduces the possibility of error and is much more chronological(like a movie should be).

Maybe if you wanna learn from some of their triggers, use Triger Viewer in the DLDB>Files>StarEdit Programs.

Also do what DeVliN said. smile.gif*-

What's the difference between two deaths and "Switch 2." Both are chronological and both have the same possibility of the same errors. And if you want to be technical, movies aren't made chronological and no rule states that they have to play chronologically. tongue.gif

So pretty much you do a transmission (use scmdraft, i lets you play no wav) center the veiw on where you want, use switches so you can keep it going, (basically when they say one sentence set switch 1 if switch on is set then say the next sentence, and put some waits so people have time to read

transmission the waits are in it kinda. atleast for as long as the text is visible. and then just have waits between transmissions instead of making a hole new trigger. Switchs should be used for chapters or scene if u wish
