I've seen this done before in a map called "Beacon Defense". Anyway, what I saw was that a section of the map had been blacked out by what looked like a fog of war. Ok, that's what fog of war is, right?
So, I float over my CC to the darken region of the map, and it disappears. I had hot linked it, so I could select it and send it back out, but every time it went into the dark area, it would disappear. The Fog of War would not go away when you sent units into it.
Now, I'm making a map where as I need to keep a player from viewing a section that will contain some of his units. While they will still appear on the mini-map, I can prevent him from selecting and view these units in the darken area.
But, I have no idea how to create this invincible fog of war. Anyone know how to do this, or something similar to it?
I'm not sure to understand, but your needs look like simply turning the vision of the player off and giving the vision of a computer (or another player ?) to the player on. The trigger Turn Vision On/Off are in SCX & SCM Draft & Starforge (not sure for the 2 last editor
lol)
And to put fog of war (if u dont know lol ?)... well... You can do a unit and kill it at the beginning, or simplier, go in almost any editor, select fog of war (in the terrain/unit/location/doodad place, at the top of the editor windows), and spread it XD (need to do it for every player you want to have the view)

I wouldn't be suprised if they turned of vision for you but allied vision for another player (say, player 4) and then created map revealers for player 4 where they wanted you to see.

Yes! That did it. Thank you very much.
