the electroids arena is a game where you choose your electroid, and take it to the fighting arena to join in tactical and advancing warfare against other human players. i am aware that other map makers have produced hero maps, but i want to release maps with new and highly structured concepts.
once you have taken your electroid to the fighting arena, you fight, use magical abilities, gain magic power and magical items from your wins, and you always have virtual stats, displayed to the player by a text system. i have plans to animate the text constantly throughout the game, to create the feeling of realism.
im not completely sure if i should make this map yet. maybe it has been done too many times?

That constant text update prevents players from chatting...
yes. i guess there could be a switch to turn it on and off?
I think it would be fine to make another hero map if you had plenty of detail, you need a thing to make it stand out from the others...i like this idea and think you should run with it.
thanks. ive finished the terrain already, and im bringing in a new concept. there are 2 castles, which belong to team a and team b. both teams have 2 human players and an allied computer player. the human players must fight against the attacking enemies to upgrade themselves. once they have upgraded enough, they can begin to take out the enemy castle defences. the main objective of the game is to destroy the enemies main castle.
at the beginning of the game, you choose your hero. each hero has unique statistics and abilities. i still haven't decided how many heroes the player can choose from.
im using a virtual health points system, which uses 2 statistic meters, total hp and hp regeneration speed. so, when the player is not fighting, their HP automaticaly regenerates. if they are in battle, their HP drains, according to the number of enemies near your hero.
other statistics include magic power, total of 4 items, magic abilities and gaming suggestions, according to the current status of the game. for instance, if your castle is under attack, you will recieve a message that suggests your next move.
all of these statistic systems will update all the time. i think the stat bars will really bring this game to life. especially if i make some nice animated text and a few sound files.
