Staredit Network

Well you can call it an Island Terrain or Beach but I'm going to referre to it as the beach. I didnt have enough time to make the hallucination preserve trigger so then I just used sprites in the meen time.


The hallu lines represent water splashing.




Here is the coral reef or small land. Perfect for mini-game maps.

thats a good start but I'd keeping working on them. You might try changing the beach from grass to dirt.

Things shouldn't have lines that make the terrain look unrealistic...if your looking for blending that is, which would probably make people like your terrain better..

Look at other peoples terrain for ideas...and don't use many sprites..it looks like you didn't but they are bad..

Wow...that looks horendous. When terraining, its better to start off isom and make small changes to it and when you get better at it you can do drastic changes and create new structures etc.

If my work looked like that I would quit life and commit suicide. Seriously.

I like the ideas that you had it's just that it didn't turn out too great with the blending.

I was testing to see what it would be like if I start off with high grass then slight changes but I'll fix more portions later on.



Thats gone to far.

Unfortuntely there's not a lot of good blends of dirt to water I've been able to find with badlands. It's hard to make a good believeable beach with tiles alone.


However, I do have some good grass blends you could use. Try here for a few.

Too far? Uh... Take a second look at that terrain. Actually, don't. I don't think anyone should have to endure that longer than a half a second.

This is worse than toothfairy's tarfall... Seriously, you need to actually blend something and stop randomly placing tile. Those pictures are a disgrace.

Meh. if its your first try at terrrain, then it is better than my first. But if it isn't, you have a long way to go then.

Quite interesting to see the comments I heard.
Aparently, yes I know it was ugly, sucked, was terrible, bad awful can't believe this terrain ever spawned on the face of all that is staredit but I was expiramenting with badlands terrain.

Never mind DTBK, anyways no more free minerals off this topic.
Next time less crititism and more idea sharing.
