Was looking through some triggers, and started to wonder if there was a trigger that would make zerg units burrow. Anyone have any idea if there is one?
Computer players with burrowing researched will burrow normal zerg ground units automatically.
If you need a unit to burrow, you could give it to a computer player for a few seconds.
Other than that, you could just replace the unburrowed unit with a burrowed one by moving a location to it, removing it, and re-creating it with the burrow property checked.
But if you try the replacing method, you don't get to preserve the HP or any other things like number of kills. Meh...
Giving to a computer would make you lose focus over the unit.
Also, I'm not sure but if you have a burrowed unit that does not have burrow researched, can he unburrow?
If you start the unit burrowed and owned by a player that has burrow researched and then give it to a player that doesn't have burrow researched then it can't unburrow. And I'm pretty sure that if you create a unit burrowed and don't have burrowed then it just creates the unit above ground.

More specifically, the player must have burrow
disabled and not just unresearched. If burrow is not disabled, then even if the burrow ability isn't researched by default, it will still get the burrow ability when the unit is given from a computer player with burrow researched.

Vision lasts for a few seconds and hotkeys will unlikely be lost because they are preserved if you don't press the hotkey in the duration that the unit is under another player's control.

From what I've read on the forum, the common answer has been "yes if it's a computer player".
So as of right now, there is no trigger that gives a unit the command to burrow?

Correct, but the "Give to computer player" is a very possible workaround.
Only problem is that a computer will not stack burrowed unit on top of eachother
then do what kenoli said just create them burrowed. like once the computer guy burrows make a trigger detect it and create as many as u need in that 1 spot
They can't be created stacked even when burrowed, right? Or am I wrong, i am under the idea that it still spaces them even when burrowed.. Or do you just create 1 by 1 and they are stacked?
as long as the burrow property is checked they will stack in one spot. anything burrowable will stack by triggers. but if they cant burrow no stacking would happen and spacing would
Okay, thx, haven't worked with burrowing much
its pretty useful if you know how too use it well. saves alot of un needed locations and extra triggers because of the locations
Can't computers still unburrow even if they have burrow disabled? That's what happened to me once except it was with siege tanks and sieging.
yes, computer players always have the ability to unburrow/unseige.
