Hey,
I got a good computer but when i'm on StarCraft i lag so bad ... i don't know why i tried all. uninstall firewall, run spybot/ad-award etc... nothing can fix that lag but when i'm on other game all is fine no lag notthing only SC do this, can some1 help me or tell me something to try because i cant play , Thanks. I've been there, plenty.
First off, if you have a modem: Start > Windows Update > Hardware > Update your modem. That always rids my lag. Secondly, the big one, spyware. You said you're clear of that, but if you're not sure, try www.trendmicro.com 's free online spyware scan (IE required). You didn't mention virus scanning. Go to www.bitdefender.com and run their online scan (once again, IE required). If you don't have access to IE, then go to www.housecall.trendmicro.com and run their virus scan. It'll allow you to use the java kernal.
If all else fails,
http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip. Download that, run it, scan and save a log file, and PM me (or post in here) the log.
Check out the scanner in my profile, too.
Remember, Blizzard hates routers for some reason. I have "latency" (yeah right) whenever I make a game, although I never lag while just playing a game.
One thing that helped me out (though I think this had to do with loading stuff on my computer) was simply turning my ingame SC music off with Ctrl+M.
Ok Merrell i tried all what you told me but i still have that damn lag ... so here the log of the scan.

Yes my window is in french so if you have any question just ask me. And i turned off my ingame music with CTRL+M but it's didnt fix it, i have a modem so no worry about router latency.
Do you have broadband or dial up?
i got broadband. Like i already told only SC lag like this, so i don't think its a connection/internet problem.
Your log file seems clean.., but are you SURE you only have one O4? That means only one program starts when your PC does.
Have you ever tried closing out MIRC or any other programs running? I sure hope you dont have photoshop or PSP open while you're playing starcraft.
Yes, only Yahoo messenger start. Well when i look in "msconfig" only yahoo is checked. When i try to play StarCraft i close all so there is no other programs running at the same time.
It's nothing with you. Battle.net has many, many quirks that create latency (things that I don't experience elsewhere). Your best chance to fix the lag is to write a nice e-mail to Blizzard asking them to update Battle.net.
Do you really think that if i write them a nice email i got any chance to get an answer ?
this is such an old problem... most computers now can just plug in the internet and ur online...make a connection that manualy connects to the internet like most people had to do when u used dial-up... this should work
i used to lag when i hade window 98 but then i got xp and my lag went away... the only problem is when i try to make a game i have bad latency so to fix that i just exit b.net then sign back on and create the game before i talk to anyone and it usually works
ADDITION:
oh and another thing if you join a game instead of just turning off the music click the options menu while in a game then go to video and turn all the stuff there off
it helped me before so your try it
