Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> 2 Questions
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Varses on 2006-08-21 at 10:39:12
Ok, I have two questions:

1. First off, how do you change text colors in briefings, in-game, etc.? The "tutorial" was less than helpful for someone who has never done it before.

2. How do you change the names of powerups?

New question:

3. How do you create a transport unit that has units inside of it?

1. copy the boxes in the tutorial and paste them in your Display Text triggers and then your text.

2. Use StarForge or SCMDraft, you can do it with the regular StarEdit Editor

EDIT: Doomstrike was right, any editor but normal staredit can change powerup names.

1. The boxes in the tutorial you copy BEFORE the text you want to be changed that color. Make the boxes simply a part of the unit name. I'm not sure if it is still this way with 1.14, but 1.13 and before, using the grey box canceled out all other colors following it, making the entire line of text after that box grey.

2. In Xtra and Starforge, you hit "Scenario," and then "Unit and Hero Settings." In SCMdraft, you hit "Scenario," then "Unit Settings." Simply find the powerups in the little tree, and change the unit name.

Um.. doomstrike, which editor you use really doesn't matter for changing the names of powerups.

I meant to say only StarForge or SCMdraft, etc. and you cant do it with the regular StarEdit Editor. I just checked

It's impossible. However, you can tell the unit to go inside the transport using the AI script: "Enter Transport – All units within the region specified will enter the closest transport, as long as a transport is available for them to enter."

Next time please make your own topic for questions.

You place a bunker and units next to it and you run the AI script:
"Enter Closest Bunker – All units within the region specified will enter the closest bunker, as long as a bunker is available for them to enter."
