Storyline / Introduction

Its been 3 years since the Kharaa escaped the Science facility.. They rampaged trough cities.. Killed everyone.. Some of the earths population had a chance to escape to a Space Station.. Now a Commando is sent down to investigate what has happened.. He lands in a Part of America.. This is where hes adventure begins...

This is like those Mass Zombie maps, not some RPG. Dude, please next time make something original, rather than recreate some boring map that has no point.

It doesn't look very interesting to me to be honest. In fact, it pretty much looks exactly like any other kill-'em-all-and-win map. Since you call it a RPG and not an Action map I expect in-depth characters and things that actually develop (I'm not talking about 255 weapons/armor upgrades and enemies which get stronger). Do you have planned to inplant anything like that?

About the title. Does 'Natural Selection' actually play a role in the game besides the fact that humans get eaten by Mr. Evil Experiment-Accident because they have more balls?

I'm sorry to say but with the little info you gave me this looks... rather boring and extremely not original or creative.

Ehem.. There will not be Mass zombies.. Only SOME.. And do you think lame mass Zombie maps envolve walking around? They just are about in sitting in one point and boring around.. Not in this.. -_-

Aww.. The Enemies do get stronger tough.. But the weapon advances too tough.. And you musnt just Kill-Them-All.. Geeze.. Its more like Walk-Around-Kill-Do-Something.. Ok that wassent correct.. Lets see.. Think of Half Life 2.. Its almost like this only this runs on SC and is alot worse.. This is ALMOST the same like it.. And is HL2 Bad? - NO! And Most of RPG's are just involving walking around.. Sigh..

Well, if your going to add weapons, try doing VHP if possible. I don't know about yourother NS map (I joined 2 months ago), but I don't feel like typing too much to flame you. (Just woke up)

So if Half Life 2 is "almost like this" then you got my interest. Frankly I don't think the SC engine allows one to replicate the gameplay of HL2.
Btw, most of the RPG's are not just about walking around and killing stuff, simply because that is not a RPG tongue.gif. As far as I can tell you are making an Action game, not a RPG (not ment as a flame or negative thing, just a correction of a commonly made mistake). Actions games can be quite cool when they have a good gameplay, usually Action games are 100% about gameplay.

So how is the gameplay in your map? As far as I know you control an unit with a gun, walk around and kill monsters. The monsters walk around. Am I correct?

I gather from this that you think your map is better then the usual mass zombie map out there because instead of sitting in one point you will also have to move? That doesn't sound very spectaculair, does it?


In short I want to hear from you why you think your map will be a good map. Could you tell me the features which make it more interesting then other maps?

Doesn't sound or look like anything special.

I think the problem with this rpg is, your not a good enough map maker and good rpg's will require lots of unique features and a good storyline that develops through out the game. I do agree that it is more like an action game then an rpg. However if you scrap most your ideas and work on a stronger storyline you could make this a unique rpg.

You know i have almost loved the Natural Selection MOD for HL and hopefully soon enought for HL2 biggrin.gif

I am pretty good at terrain, designing Cities and good objectives... If you look at my map OUTBREAK, if you wan't a good terrainer or level designer message me or something i can do the terrain for you. biggrin.gif

But good map i hope it turns out awsome, if it does ill thank you alot <3333 mellow.gif

A few tips...

1. You should at least be able to have 3 players. When p1 finds the leader, co-leader, p2 and p3 should be able to play as him. Just an idea though.

2. More weapons, if you end up having just the one you wrote their...well...good luck.

3. You should add tanks, helicopters for shooting down air units, or destroying ground units.

4. Maybe you should make it kinda like stealthy/action, and less than a TON of aliens in every place, to make it like a mass map (wtf? how mass?)

You should totally add extensive environment interaction, with your character making comments pertaining to his situation, and clues to the plot and maybe puzzles.

lol just a few tips on his maps.

But really, how would it be a mass? Just spread out the enemies in different areas and itll be fine. More fun gameplay though.
