This is an idea that I've had for a while. Basically what happens is that when you control more than one gun you can control which one is equipped by having a zergling burrowed or unburrowed. To change the weapon you just toggle the state of the zergling. To pick weapons (powerups) up move your Pickup Weapon (Devouring One) anywhere on the minimap. It will put the weapon in the second slot. Roam around with your marine or w/e unit you switched to changing weapons and switching back and forth. Of course it could use some refining but please leave your comments.

its like the y button on halo...

I thought deep blue had something like this, but meh, seems easy to implement.

Yea, I tried making it like Halo's gunner system. I liked the realism on how you can only hold 2 weapons instead of like 10.

I'm not sure if Deep Blue had this, I think it was something different.

One thing I'd change, make the pickup function use the same zergling, and it could be a sort of action function, which would actually be quite useful in a map. (Granted you could only pickup items in one state, unless you made the ling switch when unburrowed only.) Its so simple and easy, I actually might use it.

So you mean just get rid of the devouring one and use the zergling for everything? That could work, I could make it so that the zergling unburrows immediately after you switch weapons which would make it able to move to pickup weapons.
