HONOR OF THE FALLEN
RPG CAMPAIGN

Created By Kenoli(U) & Evil_Moogle
¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯ ¯

(Story)
In the early eras of time a rift was left open between two worlds.
The world of Asgathen and The world of Gazen. These two worlds were too
different to ever co-exist as one. One world was a noble and strong humanoid race, while the other was a blood thirsty race of monsters. For many eras the Humans and Monsters fought in war. The monsters swept across the lands like a plague. Causing destruction and terror everywhere.A young mage found a way to stop these monsters but to cast the spell would mean losing his life. This was the only way he knew how stop them. Knowing this he casted the spell draining him of his life-force. The spell stopped the monsters from ever entering the realm of Asgathen again. But how long will the spell last? Will peace last for long? Only time can tell. May The Fallen Always Be Honored.

(30 Years Later)
For many generations citizens of Asgathen Empire have lived
In peace. No wars have been fought for many years.
The path of the old ways was dying slowly with time.
But Honor still remained in this growing empire.
Only thing that was lacking was a brave hero to protect this empire.

But how long can this empire live without war?
Would the empire survive without knowledge of war?
Would it even survive without its brave hero to protect them?
Maybe only time will tell the fate of this empire.
May the Fallen always be honored.

I played Chapter one! I liked it. The Terrain was wicked, and uh..the spells and everything else..very RPG like. Altho, I hated the fact that you had to attack your items to use them. That wasted a bit of time.

Err..I'l read this..I forgot to.

I <3 HotF.

The grammatical errors I've found so far:

"At a very young age Garast lost his parents in a unknown event."

"He was taken in by Kojacs as his own son and shown then old ways of the sword."

"All that is known about Kojacs is that he was great warrior whom fought in final days of great mage whom put up protection barrier."

"Also that he was mages bodyguard." Sentence fragment.

I'm too lazy to find the rest. You reread the post and you can edit it.

Right now I'm appoximately 20% done making chapter two, Webs Of Fire. The basic script was completed and given to me by Moogle.
I'm a little busy at the moment, doing school, which I haven't done in quite some time, and doing various other things, so I tend to put off working on the map.
It's a terrible excuse but I'm using it nevertheless.

I most likely won't make steady updates on the map, I never do anything like that. Eventually I will be "ready", and I'll sit down and work on the map for many hours at once (like I did for the first chunk of the map) to push forward in the development.
I'm really in no hurry to rush the map out. You can expect chapter two to come out eventually. Probably not within a few days, but certainly within a couple weeks.

Also, if anyone has any criticisms about the first chapter or suggestions for the second chapter, speak up!

My only complaint was how long cutscenes were. It can take a minute for 4 lines of text.

I'd also recommend making it harder smile.gif

When attacking chest we wanted make it feel abit more real then just picking it up, make player feel like he opening up the chest. Some like is some dont i guess depends on the user.

Some people are slow readers so we had to increase time alittle bit so that you dont miss parts.

Good job Kenoli(U) and Moogle. The game was awsome. It has great triggerwork and of course great RPG characteristics from Moogle. I liked the systems that you guys had although the armor didnt help too much. It was hard at the beginning but got a lot easier towards the end because I would just shield or use the DT spell. The game was very interesting and awsome though, good job.

This looks pretty promising. As an RPG campaign, I understand that there's alot of freedom concerning map sizes, text, and such. Although the fun (or torture) of leveling up extensively in a single map is removed, I'm sure the aspect of progression will be an interesting experience. You two probably don't need any tips from me, so a good luck would suffice.

Agreed! If you really want to accomodate readers of all speed levels, why not just make a "Next Page" command or something?

Thanks, but what do you mean the armor didn't help too much? If you find all the pieces you become all but invincible vs. the zerglings.
And with the shield spell enabled you can take zero damage from the ultralisks too.

The second map involves more than killing and leveling up.
When you defeat enemies, you gain money. With that money you can buy training to increase your HP, energy, speed, etc.
There will also be weapons, armor, and abilities to buy, and various other ways to get stronger.
The maps will all pretty much pick up where the previous maps left off in terms of character power.

The player will start getting a little more freedom in the next chapter, being able to talk to whoever they want, possibly choosing what to say, etc.
Player-initiated conversations will be controllable, but the "story" cutscenes won't be.
I'll just try to make them a little less boring from now on.

Sounds good. This is a map I will deffinately try. As for the tread, it probably should be moved to the new thread called Team Projects or something like that.(On the bright side, there are only like 5 in that catagory, so everyone would see it on the front page wink.gif )

I thought it was a bit hard actually, I'm used to killing every single monster, and when I tried that strategy in this map, I soon found out that theres not enough healing potions =/ So I just used Shield and ran towards the end.
