Staredit Network -> Terrain -> Counter-Strike Terrain

As few of you have heard, a new Counter-Strike map is in production. Read about it here.

Ryu made a pretty good suggestion about terrain. The idea is to make multiple maps to choose from. Like dust2, inferno, aztec, prodigy and so on. Right now I have nothing else but random space map. I've tried to re-create some CS map terrain before and to be honest nothing good came up. So I decided to see maybe you guys can come up with something cool.

Ok, here is the deal. I need at least 4 CS map terrains. Each about 64x64 big. Now each terrainer who makes something good for me will be in the credits of CS SIM and I will probably give you some mins for your work. smile.gif

Help me and you won't regret it. happy.gif

Wait, so there'll be four maps to choose from? and the maker will have to pick which one and host it? or will each terrain like aztec, inferno, etc have their own little space in the map?

4 or more maps in one. And players can vote and change maps during the game. biggrin.gif

Remind me - can you put jungle tiles, for example, into a space platform map ?

No, unfortunately you can't. The only tiles you can place in Space are Space tiles. That is the same for all other tilesets. You can't use tiles from other tilesets.

While, I'm currently on space tileset. Feel free to use a more universal tileset like badlands or soemthing. I can change the master tileset at any time. Also if you use Draft, try to use less sprites and convert doodads into terrain. because I will use copy/paste to insert your terrain into CS SIM.

[ Add: Can we do fy_iceworld2k or something xD ]

Sure why not. Just don't make it on ice tileset, because I'm sure it won't be the master tileset.

I'd help you out, but I'm only really familiar with Dust, Dust2, Aztec, Italia, and Office (the ones I play the most).

It's enough if you make just one of them. happy.gif
Besides you can use overviews to help yourself. wink.gif

I'll give it a shot I guess, I'll try and re-create de_cbble, my favourite map.

ADDITION:
Hmm... I started it and it went well... until I realized a 64x64 box wasn't enough space... At this point I'll probably quit it... or have to move everything over a few tiles... I tried. wink.gif

Sure use more space. I said about 64x64, it can be twice as big if it's really good.

This is actually interesting me, I've been retired as a terrainer and a map maker for like three or four months, but you're making this appealing again!

Alright, I'll resize it and send you the layout. All I'm doing it shaping the edges with water, using different terrain to symbol staircases, etc. So if you like the layout, either you or me could edit it, by the way, its in Badlands.
