I've seen a lot of instances where the QUOTE tag has been messed up, but I've always assumed it was due to bad syntax input by the user.

I checked this post on PyForums, which uses the same code structure, and the QUOTE boxes were made perfectly. Why won't IPB make them work? It seems that there's a limit... if you have too many [quote] tags, then it doesn't create them properly.
I had the same problem, then deleted a few quotes and it worked.
I just tested and yes there is a limit. Weird to not say more.
QUOTE
It must be a limit
That works fine.
Yep, DEAD proved it.
So, for Moose/IP: why the limit?
By the way, the limit is 25. 26 quotes doen't work anymore. Maybe every tag has a limit like [img] tag. I wonder why IPB doesn't give a error though.
If I remember correctly, most free forums have a quote limit. While on a friend's phpBB, I managed to hit the quote limit in PMs (which I think I've done here, too). My point is all of them have this limit for some reason, so its not just IPB sucking.
