Alright so this is my first big map, 3rd map overall and yes I know the LoTr scheme is way overused. But they're all grand scale massive-type battles. What I'm doing is somewhat different, it's on a large scale of battle but it follows the books and movies.

Get ready for...

The Battle Of Osgiliath

You heard it here first, this will be when Mordor sends out its army to take Minas Tirith through Osgiliath first.  There will be 6 playable positions and unlike other Lord Of The Rings games, this one will have a twist.

Progress

-Ideas
•About 27% with the ideas currently.  One major thing I'll reveal is, unlike building fortresses and have armies spawn, you will build fortresses and have minerals spawn, then you can hire reinforcements any way you want whether it be all archers or all cavalry.  (It's worth a try.)

-Terrain
•Terrain is about 70% complete, I've got most of it done and no none of it is custom looking amazing and all that.  Terrain will most probably be fully completed in StarEdit.  I might go in starforge though for stacking and things of the sort.

-Unit placement
•About 11% complete, not too far in this.  Units still being chosen/created.

-Triggers
•At 0% as I usually finish with Terrain and Unit Placement first.

-Locations
•Also at 0% as I need my terrain and units done.

Specifications

-Players
•6-Players

-Map tileset
•Jungle

-Map size
•192x192

-Heroes
So far I've only done the following but if you have any suggestions, feel free to post.
•Faramir
•Witch King
•Gothmog
•I am considering on making the Steward used just to give the good more heroes.  I am also considering perhaps 2 or 3 wraiths for the Mordor armies.

Storyline / Introduction

Follow the storyline.  Mordor's army attacks Osgiliath and burns it down, OR does Osgiliath hold out long enough to receive help from Rohan and Minas Tirith?

Features

-Player Interface
As said, they'll have custom-built armies and it's rather obvious for who does what.  Players 1 and 2 are the outer defense, 3 and 4 the inner and 5 and 6 are Mordor's armies.

-What's new in your map that others have not done before?
•Not completely hero-based action.  (Some maps the heroes take on key buildings all by themself.)
•As mentioned many times, custom built armies instead of spawned.
•Normal limit of 2-4 fortresses but in this, 6 will be maximum.
•If I do put the ring wraiths in, they'll be allowed to die but have to wait a certain amount of time to respawn.
•One area of the map doesn't belong to one player alone, no it does not.  In my map there are at least 2 players supporting one part of the map at a given time.

Details

-Characters
So far,
•Faramir
•Witch King
•Gothmog
-Suggestions would be nice.

-Army Units
•Archer (Duran)
•Cavalry (Vulture)
•Catapult, and Mobile Catapult (Siege Tank)
•Strong Point (Generator)
•Barricade (Psi Disruptor)
-Nothing else as I've only put in about 2 hours of work so far.

-Estimated Gameplay Time
•Around an hour to an hour and a half.  Less if poo-faces leave.  angry.gif
