WoodenFire said me that there are many ways of making ramps that are directed not from north to south but for exapmle from south to north. Can you describe me at least one way to do it or is it terrain makers secret? I really need it in my map crazy.gif . And other thing: I was searching in toutorials but I could'n find it - can I preplace object for player 12 or spawn it (create unit) later in game or P12 service is only for working on P12 objects that appeared in the game when some player has left? And other question: is there any way to create or move trap type object during game? I tried both without effect :/. Thanks in advance :-).

Never tried moving a trap. If you say it doesn't work it probably doesn't, I suppose.

You can pre-place units that are p12, this is the only way to get them as their pale blue color (unless you set a player 1-8 as this color). During the game you must create the units for a player 1-8 and then give to player 12, since you cannot create units for p9-12 through triggers. The created units retain the color of the player it was given to from.

And I don't get your ramps question, sorry.

I've never seen a ramp moving from north to south. South to north is quite easy though, as that is the standard doodad one.

Oh, I get what you mean. Depends what tileset you're on, for the top to bottom ramps. There is a popular preset for Jungle ramps that many melee mapmakers take advantage of; go to bwmn and look through a few jungle maps and it won't take you long to find one that uses the same ol backwards ramp.

I'm sure people have made them for other tilesets, as well.. twilight and desert come to mind, that I have seen.. but I always see the jungle one the most.

There are some examples of that in this thread. They don't look anything like ramps, but they do get you from high dirt to low without looking too weird.
You can see how it is possible to go from high dirt, to high grass, to grass, to dirt, without and rough edges:

Actually doing is is just a matter of finding the correct tiles to "blend" together. It's time-consuming above difficult.

The Arbiter's Recall ability works on traps, that's the only way I know of to move them.

Yep, i got quite a bit more than those screenshots...

You can try your own blending and see what you can come up with too.

Silly Syphon, it depends if you're going up the ramp or down it. laugh.gif

ADD: And I looked at one example of the ramps you posted the link to fritfrat, and all I saw was tile smashing.

The badlands one is pretty crappy, that's probably the one you looked at it. The jungle one is really good, though.
