Staredit Network -> Website Feedback, Bugs & Discussion -> Why lock the updates topics?

I was just wondering why lately Moose has preferred to lock his short updates posts in news. I wouldn't have thought that there was any harm in allowing comments on those kinds of topics - the topic that Moose left open for a while didn't get any spam, and allowed some to get their questions answered. And I'd think that it'd be good to get some feedback from the community.

So yeah, just wondering about what the thinking might be behind locking such topics.

There is no need to comment. Simple as that.

The point wasn't that there was any need to comment, it was that generally most topics are left open unless there is a good reason to close them. I briefly described a couple of benefits of leaving topics open in the first post (allows questions, allows feedback). And I couldn't really think of why they might be closed. So I would normally expect such topics to be left open.

Well, there wouldnt be much of a discussion. just things like 'Cool!' and 'Thats awesome! great job!' and stuff like that. No discussion is really needed
