Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> [SOLVED]Is it possible?

I been wondering if you can control a unit but it can only attack where it stands. You cannot move it or anything. Is this is possible? If it is, is there a way without using lots of locations? Because I don't like to do extra work if there's a alternate way (and easier way)of doing so.

And one last question. Is there a way to do this to a computer's units?
(Remember, The units cannot do anything. They can only attack where they stand.)

Thanks in advance.

By the way, If I didn't explain it clearly for you to understand. Just let me know and I'll try to explain it in a more understandable way.

Again, Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure I understand what you want, do you want for a unit to be able to fire while moving, or only be able to fire in a certain area?

I want the unit, once created, only fire where it was created. Like if was created next to you or something, they cannot move. They only stand where the unit was created. But it can fire. You know like a tower, that looks like a unit? You see where im going with this, right?

If you want it to stay in one place, but still be able to shoot, then just make a location over unwalkable terrain (null, cliff, water, etc.) and constantly tell it to move there (move not order to move). Hyper triggers would be needed to make it work.

You can do it.. with.. various ways i think....
1. Block the unit with dark templars/cloaked units...
2. Constantly center a location on the unit and move the unit to that location, that will result in the unit being unable to move but it will still be able to attack i guess?
(the unit will be able to move just that it will be moved back.. so it cannot Change position)

That's all i got i guess....

listen to Isat, the unit will 'turn' into a building with thr ability to fire(but not move). this method IS the best way of achieving your required effect.
