Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> [SOLVED] Music that doesnt interrupt the game
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DFIK on 2006-09-12 at 16:55:59
How do I add music, but have it so that the wait trigger for it doesnt mess up all the other triggers causing them to wait for the music?

I've experienced this problem before.

ok, it works but only for me... the other 4 players arent getting the music. I've tried setting the trigger for just me, and setting it for each player individually. Neither work. Is this fixable?

That tutorial is basically the same as 'using death counters as a timer', here.

Assign the trigger to all the players that should hear the music. (click their check boxes)
Make sure you are using 'Current Player' in the 'Deaths' and 'Set Deaths' triggers.

Ok, ive tried that, but now its just plain old refusing to loop at all.

WTF am i doing wrong? I have this set, and checked for every player:

Trigger1:

COND:
-always

ACTION:
-Modify death counts for current player: add 1 death for protoss carrier

Trigger2:

COND:
-Current player has suffered at least 160 death of protoss carrier

ACTION:
-Modify death counts for current player: set to 0 for protoss carrier
-play "POTC2".wav
-preserve trigger

Do you have hyper triggers? Those would be needed for the count to go up at a half decent speed.

You should also make sure that there aren't any Carriers dying on the map. The is unlikely to screw up the trigger majorly, but its never a good idea to use death counters as a time when the used unit can also die on the map.

No, that wasnt the issue, i jsut forgot to write it.

Anyway, the problems fixed, so we can close this topic. I asked some help from my clan members and we got it working.
