Simple question guys, im using p9 and p10 as computers w/no ai scripts. The problem im having is that my spawn unit triggers for them arent working. I havent tested on the unit order triggers yet either but i dont think they work. I might just have freaked up the triggers, or they might not work. So just what does and doesnt work with P9 and P10?

Triggers can only be owned by p1 - 8. However, you can have those triggers affect p9-12, as in the action/conditions. One of the only things you can't do with players 9-12 is create units for them, and of course AI scripts. To create units for them you must create for another player and give to them.

you can make all the triggers you want for p9-12, but they're not gonna work no matter what you do, cause starcraft doesn't read/accept them.

So if i created units for P8, and gave them to P9 i could then order them to move as P9 units?

yes, but the trigger to order can't be owned by players 9 -12

Would neatural players work? Or must i set it to something else? Wanna just use the trigger function and show me please?

the only players that can own triggers are players 1-8. all players and forces triggers are actaully in P1-8s' triggers list.

i can't remember exactly, but to be safe, assume everything else does not work.

i think 'neutral players' are all player set to neutral. whereas, simply 'neutral' refers to p12. so as long as one of player out of P1-8 are neutral, i would think its fine.

this is jsut off the top of my head, so don't quote me on it.

Just because p9 - 12 can't own triggers, doesn't mean actions/conditions for triggers owned by p1 - 8 can't be p9 - 12 specific.

Moonlight, the Create action indeed does not work with P9-P12 as the parameter in the trigger action.

How 'bout this then: Order won't work right either. Patrol and Attack can't function correctly because P9-P12 are always neutral to the other players.

Can you order the units and then give them to players 9 and 10? Don't units keep orders when given?

nope, units lose orders when given to another player(unless its a special case with p9-12). although they seem to regain them if given back to the original owner. not sure if that always happens though.

Units do not lose move orders when you give them to another player.

Units given to P9-P11 also retain their alliance status don't they? so you could just create them with an enemy player, give them an order, then give them to P9-P11

You don't need to order and then give to p9-12, because you can use the order action on p9-12.
