I'm sure you all know theres thousands upon thousands of units, just to many to take the time and research them. Well, i've gotten bored and started. In about 3 days, i've researched exactly 1000 units. Most of them are nothing or crash sc, but theres only a handful that are cool. I also plan to keep researching untill school starts.

Keep in mind - I used Starforge. I was zerg the whole time. There was only 1 other unit on the map (Enemy Marine), it was on Jungle terrain. Some units that crash might be able to have their building exits blocked, thus stopping the crash.

EDIT: I think I know why it crashes. I'm not sure, but it could be trying to load a portrat AND a sound, but they aren't there because these "units" aren't indexed.

Did you try detectors on the "unclickable" units? They might just be cloaked.

thats a lot of free time.. i might find that psi and supply thing useful... 1 unit for over 100 of each... but who knows
please remove all crashes... they serve no purpose and waste my time smile.gif please

For the ones that crash Starforge, talk to clokr_ tomorrow and ask him to add his little feature in a private version of proedit. Or you can hex edit the map.


BTW I JUST REALIZED THIS MAKES STARCRAFT LAST ANOTHER 5 YEARS! WOOT!

1130 scourge has shields.
1126 zerg build morph has shields.
1126 and 1127 both have the selection circle some spaces below them.
1098 is considered a hero because it has the white box. It also has shields. It's also an air unit. I'ts also a terran unit.
1090 is an air unit and is not terran.
1080 is not terran.
982 is under ground units: units walk on top of it.
938 clicky = crash
917 has 0/0 shields, pressing cancil with another unit will kill it.

How to tell if-
The unit is Terran: When you tell an scv to repair it and it sais "Must target Terran Units", you know it is not terran.
The unit is Zerg: If you can use consume, then the unit is zerg and not a building.
The unit is mechanical: If you can use lockdown you will know it's a mechanical unit.

Dunno what else I can't think right now.

For a lot of these, if you order them to "attack" another unit, they will just die. If you order them to move, the game crashes even if you don't look.

NOTE: THE ONLY WAY TO SELECT THE UNITS ARE TO HOLD SHIFT AND CLICK WITH ANOTHER UNIT IN A GROUP.

How to tell if-
The unit is Terran: When you tell an SCV to repair it and it sais "Must target Terran Units", you know it is not Terran.

The unit is not a hallucination: If you EMP it and it vanishes (will work on buildings as well). Other abilities will also insta-kill Hallucinations.

There are TOO much units, so I'm gonna make a system so we all can help:

There are 65535 posibilities, and ~1000 are tested, so 64500 left. Let's make groups of 10 units, so there are 6550 groups. All the groups will start in multiples of 10, so a group is from 1500 to 1509, another group is from 1660 to 1669, etc.
If you want to help select an untested group and test it, test the 10 units and post your results here.

You don't need to say how it looks in SF. If it crashes just say the ID and that crashes like_

If it have no sound set race to 'none' and if it crashes set race to '?'.
Elevation: Move a ground and a air unit over it. If it shows under a ground unit then it is underground, if it shows over all air units then it is overair. It can be air and ground too! (note: if it makes a wall around it use a dropship for drop an unit over it)
Clickable: Yes or No. Clickable mean if the cursor change over it (like marine), or not (like nuke).
Click Crash: Yes or No. Does it crash when you click on it?
Selectable: Yes or No. Can you select it with the shift trick (check the Race field help for more info) or does it crash?
Select. Wireframe: When you select it using the shift trick, what does it looks like? Example: Terran Marine.
Shields: Yes or No. When you select it using the shift trick, does it show a shield bar?
Energy: Yes or No. When you select it using the shift trick, does it show a energy bar?
Valid HP: Yes or No. When you select it using the shift trick, does the HP bar show full or show empty?
