"Ruuuuus!" Bors shouted.
"Hail to our great commander!"

Meanwhile, a great Saxon army gathered, just north of Hadrian's wall. Their leader, a mighty man of immense strength and weapon skill, commanded them. He was a  brutal and ruthless leader, but so were the rest of the Saxons.
"We march the day after the next!" Their leader shouted.

•It's not entirely new, but like Chuiu has said, not many maps are very story driven. The only RPG I have played that is story driven, is Honour of the Fallen.

So you're basing this on the movie, right? I only ask because the legend of King Arthur is so widely denated and only recently was it discovered that he may have been a Roman warrior who allied with the Britons and Scots against the Saxon army. Oh and because those lines of dialogue you included are from the movie. tongue.gif

It sounds like the one from the movie, because Tristan and Bors aren't really in the real legend of King Arthur.

Actually I've seen their names in some of the Arthur legends that don't involve the Roman plotline. Bors was the one who supposedly found the grail or something (from the version that claims Arthur and his knights searched for the Holy Grail). Tristan, on the other hand, was from the "Tristan and Isolde" legend that somehow mixed with the Arthur legend at some point in history.

If you actually read what I posted, you'd notice the "somehow mixed with the Arthur legend at some point in history" part. I had read in a few books that somehow another "Tristan and Isolde" legend coincided with the Arthur legend. He fell in love with one Isolde, then left to join Arthur's knights, and then met another woman named Isolde. But alas the first Isolde was the love if his life.

So you're right, Tristan is not from the original Tristan and Isolde legend, but someone at some point in time mixed them.

Personally I do not like the idea for a medieval maps in a futuristic RTC game such as Starcraft, but I hope you will do it well anyways, I wish you good luck on this and I hope you achieve what goals you may have set on this map.

Chuiu's RPG rant is a pretty old topic. Story-driven is only one characteristic of RPGs, there are so many others that are needed to actually make the RPG "good".

Yes, the heroes will have abilities like special attacks, command forces and use items, and there will also be different "mini games" you have to complete to run away from the Saxons or break the ice.

This map will be a mix of an RPG and tactical warfare, with some puzzle and arena elements.

I'm working roughly 3 hours a day on the map, so it won't be too long before the release. happy.gif

there is a story you follow, and you have to fight, think, and command your way to victory. There wont be missions, everything will be in a story.

It just seems like any other RPGs. You should add something thats very different from others.

Ummm? He's trying to ask for ideas on how to make it less plain and you're telling him to make it less plain when he don't know what to do to make it less plain.

• What unique systems do you have?
When carrying too much items, your hero get encumbered? Your hero slows down and can't use spells when stamina is low?

• Terrain and Unit
Is it overexagerrated with lots of things that makes it look unrealistic(Example: Having a polar bear in the middle of a desert?!)
Or is it well-detailed and looks realistic?(Trees are randomly placed and not placed in neat rows as if it is man-planted)

Do your units appear all of a sudden making it unrealistic or does it get created in the fog and walks out from the fog into view of the players?

The most important new system is called Battlefield Control
It is basically a fighting system like the one seen in the Heroes:Of might and magic series, but with a lot of tweaks.

I'm doing my best to make it look all natural, and I think I have suceeded quite well in this.

I have made all spawn locations in fog.
