I'm wondering if anyone's tried DEFCON. It's an independent game based off of the movie WarGames, specifically the end part where the computer is running all the simulations of nuclear war.
The gameplay is very fun and it revolves a lot around the behavior of the players. Is your ally protecting you with those carriers? Or is he planning a sneak attack? What exactly was blue doing with those recon jets? Even though players can make alliances, only one player is allowed to win at the end, encouraging you to turn on your so-called allies.
6-way gameplay and many customizable game options keep the game interesting and exciting each time... I highly recommend it.

Heh, I just won a game by 2 points. I had .2m more kills than him. It was right close. I used up all my ICBM's quickly, so at the end I had to scramble a submarine/bomber final push to pull out the few points I needed.

Very confusing of a game for me. Especially how to place units.. Say if I place a bunch of units at the beginning, but save some.. How do I place more units..

You can't place units after DEFCON 3... did you read the tutorial?
I just finished playing a game and it was probably the best one I've played so far... I managed to pull off a backstab at the perfect time, knocking out their counterstrike abilities and scoring a crapload of points in one move... so much fun. The intricate system of alliances and backstabbing that occurs really makes this game fun.
