Is thee the chance that SEN could have a propper chat system. The shoutbox seems to be used as a very, um useless chat system. Can SEN get a propper live chat room sort of thing? I mean in java or somthing not in a seperate program.

Live chat sucks; the shoutbox is perfect for SEN.
Honestly, what is bad about the shoutbox. It suits SEN's needs perfectly. If you want to go IM someone, track them down on your own time, that's why profiles have room for IM information.

We used to have an IRC channel, but it totally died due to lack of use. Truth is, these are forums and not chatrooms for a reason.

You can have it set to refresh, basically is a live chat, just not everyone on SEN comes to SEN just to chat to other SENers so why should it be changed? It is set up perfectly!

Id like to see some type of code enabled on the shout box, even though it might be abused. Just color or bold/italic/underline/strike.

Tuxedo-Templar already suggested this earlier, but in a different fashion. He wanted to promote the use of Gabbly as a chat room for SEN. Http://www.gabbly.com/staredit.net was used for a short while but like the IRC channel, it died.

That was just a laugh of confidence from IP. Incase you didn't know, IP programmed the v5 shoutbox and most of the other things there.

And at the same time I think for once an Admin didn't have to come in and say, "Wait for v5" or "It will be in v5." The self-realization by Qwerty made IP laugh.

Not while we have noobs that like to put 60,000 pixel-wide images in the shoutbox so I have to mount a major expedition every time I want to find the middle of the shoutbox bar in order to delete the shout.

When IP feels like switching over for us. v5 has been in the works since long before you came to SEN. And its estimated release date has never been set.
IP did say it would be soon, though. So that could mean at most another month (if you're optimistic).
