Whatever happened to the ads on the site? IP said they basically payed the monthly bill. So why were they removed? The space they took up is still there, so why not put them back?

The Google ads that generated a few cents in revenue? I don't think that covers the bill. tongue.gif

Oh. I thought he said that they payed it or something. Let me go find the original topic.

I like the blank space there, it makes the first post on that page split from the other posts, along with the first post on the topic. I like it the way it is!

Google cancelled it because some people were clicking too much ;o

Wait, the ads are still there? Or the space is at least?

I use Safari on my Mac and I have never once seen the ads or a blank space under the first post. I saw them when I went on IE and FireFox, though. Perhaps its just a Mozilla/Safari thing?

Ad removal is a donator perk.

So, are you going to remove the space?

I am used to having the space there, I think we should just leave it, I dont think it is causing that many problems. Unless it does bother other people I dont see why it would hurt to get rid of it!

I know, but it wasn't there even before I donated the 20 bucks. And I think it was just a Safari thing, since it showed up on IE and Firefox.

Who made that original topic? I thought it was IP, but I can't find it in either the news or IP's topic lists.

I just might bring back ads to try to support a Virtual Private Server for SEN (as was the orginial plan). I can't use google though...

You should sell ad space to SEN members for a small fee. At BobandGeorge.com (an awesome sprite comic if you like MegaMan), the creator of the comic needed financial support for the site and started this idea. He had some javascript randomly cycle through 20 images at the top of the page to display each advertisement during the month. And to get one of the 20 slots, you had to pay like $5 a month for it. And people would get more than one, so he would make like $20 off 1 person, just to show a link to their site.

In this case that would be an easy $100 if you did that here.

It would be a theoretically easy $100. How many people on SEN have something they want to advertise for $5 a month? I don't, and I'm guessing most of the other 14/15/16 year olds here don't.

Although, there's always the random people who will submit "omg pie" ads. I know I would smile.gif
