Staredit Network

Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Small Sounds?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Undead-Fox on 2006-10-08 at 15:54:33
This has kinda puzzled me, as I have been away from mapping for quite some time now. Hehe.

Anyways, I notice in Tuxedo Templar's superb map 'Rush v1.0', it has a TON of sounds and such in them.

They do not show up in the editor. So I extracted them with WinMPQ.
When doing that, it shows that it's about 100 MB/s. But yet, the map is no where NEAR that size.

How does one go about doing such a thing?

Thankies in advance for any answers.

WinMPQ decompressed them

ADDITION:
Also, Rush is a locked map, so you used OS map to open it, OS map doesnt put the sounds into the map, they put them in a folder.

MPQs (SCM = MPQ) are compressed archives, like zip files.

so we can make our maps size smaller if we conpress them with Win Mpq?
If so that would be great for me

Question is: why do you want to steal the sounds? Dont copy come up with your own stuff

They would be compressed by default, whether added through WinMPQ or Staredit, and compressed with the same type of compression. How large is the map, by the way? (compressed size)

OMG... okay, I have no interest in the sounds in his map at all. I already have most of those soundtracks anyways.

I am only asking HOW TO COMPRESS THEM LIKE HE DID.

Okies? tongue.gif

He made ALL of those sounds in his map and the map size was VERY small compared to the size of his sounds he used. HOW did he make his sounds that small WITHIN his map.

THAT! is what I am asking. o.o

ADDITION:
The map size was only about 5 MBs if I remember right, and the size of te actual sounds was well over 100 MBs

why dont you just try PMing Tuxedo Templar? It would be a lot easierjust to ask the guy who made the map.......

to compress the map visit this pageWav Compressor and download the software. Then compress the wav, and put it in your map. It worked great for me anyways.
