In my friends map i seen on eof the units as the banner and the banner had -5 dmg.
can someone teach me how to do that?

I'm pretty sure you can do that in SF or SCM Draft. I mean if you can make a unit have 1234/5 health, then this shouldn't be that hard either.

Have you tried just simply typing "-5" in the health field in either of those editors?

lol, I don't know, I tryed on Starforge but it doesn't allow negative numbers.
On SCMDRAFT 2 you can set negative numbers but in the game it resets to 65535 - (|N|-1)

Ah okay. I'm on a Mac, so I was taking a wild guess.

Does it perhaps have to deal with placing a certain unit owned by a certain player greater than P12? i know nothing of these effects, I just know that they do a lot of craaaaazy things.

what dmg made the unit really? -5 too? or 0.5?
if it's possible to give units a negative real dmg, u could heal other units xD

Are you sure it was set to -5 ?

Yeah, I saw negative damages too. But it was like -1999999999998 in some map. It was an asian map tho.

I'm pretty sure negative damages aren't possible. If anyone can find a map that has it, please post it.

Negative HP is definitely possible and can be done in SF or SCMDraft just by typing in a negative number.

Can you post the map for all of us to see? It may be a hassle to go through all of them, but this is really intriguing.

Gosh! Leave it to the asians to think of everything![/sarcasm]

I can't try this right now, but I think if you put 0 damage and then put the up bonus as -1 it might work.

I wish Heim would answer my question..

Either the damage word is signed or not. If it is, you can make negative damage by setting damage to the upper half of the word, otherwise negative damage is impossible.

I think you can do neg dmg (it is signed I believe), but it doesn't have the effect you'd think it might.

Well, what effect does it have?

I spent half an hour trying different numbers, so I say that it's impossible.

How do you do that?

Perhaps it was a mod?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Heimdal on 2006-10-22 at 17:03:30
A mod could not have that effect - it's a matter of how the SC game engine inteprets the data.

And to DTBK: I don't know if it is signed or not. I would imagine that it's not, since it would be pretty easy to overflow by setting upgrades to a large enough value. In any case it wouldn't be too hard to test it out =P
