I'm trying to make the force names blue and red using the colors at http://www.staredit.net/index.php?showtopic=33721 but they aren't working at all. There is absolutely no difference at all between putting them in, and not.

Colors in force names have been disabled in the newest Starcraft version.

If you realy want the colors just re-install sc and edit the map w/o the new sc patch..I'm not sure this will work.

it will, but then you won't be able to paly it on Bnet.

I suggest making the colors in the map name just look really good, as people have said the forces colors are disabled. You should have noticed that there are no colored forces anymore.

Thanks guys, I guess there is just no way to color the force names anymore. Pitty. Maybe bliz will put them back in the next patch..

It is not the editor that is disabling them; it is Starcraft that is not displaying colors in force names. There isn't anything you can do about it.
