Besides the c00lz0rz name effects, they are useless. And besides, you can code it so that you can add an effect to your name when you reach a certain amount of posts... and you can change it only once in a set time.

To make our website a little bit more interactive. Minerals are nothing too important so people will not spam to get them. But you can play little games and buy lesser items. I don't see anything wrong with it as it is now.

IDC for minerals, i just dont like that to change the name you have to spam to get 500 minerals.

Change name is so expensive because people change their name to often. If it would be free it would be a nightmare to track who is who.

Nobody "needs" minerals in that sense of the word. They're just nice to have and can help you buy little extra things. They'll be more important in v5. But technically, you will never "need" minerals. They are a gaming aspect of voluntary participation.

You don't have to spam. You should signup with a name you like, and contribute to the forum before you're able to change it. Do you have any idea how many never let you change your name?

In v5, minerals will mystically be cultuivated in quanities proportional to how much you deserve them (aka. IP seems to think minerals will replace 42 as the answer to the great question).
Until then the answer is this:

Well, I changed my name once, when I joined clan Mp) I agree that minerals is the only thing that we could give as prizes for the Map contests. And v5 will have more options to use the minerals for!

I changed my name twice. Mainly because I wanted it to appear as Laser_Dude, not laser_dude. I used a semi-funny takeoff on voy's name for a couple hours. And I got 10 free minerals from him . "Grand_Voyager_7456", as in the minivan, the Plymouth "Grand Voyager". spend 1000, get 10 back. If change username hadn't been around, I'd've been annoyed, and probably asked Moose to delete my account so I could make a new one under the same name. That's the reason I have very few name/title effects for my post count.

That day was very lucky for me, I won the 50/50 raffle, got 200 minerals in the magic boxes, and got those 10 from voy.

How about this: you guys make a movie clip store in v5. and we can use the minerals so that we can buy the clips and use them as our sigs.

how about we make some sort of areana map and for the more minerals you contribute in to get into the game the better upgrades or something you get?? but there should be a limit per game so noobs dont get owned.

I think that minerals are the best system we have--you get them for posting and there really isn't anything else for rewards in the mapping contests. I think perhaps name effects should be cheaper, but that's just my opinion. Change name should be expensive, since it makes it hard to keep track of who's who. I've changed my name once (to join [MM]) and thought it was a bit pricey at the time, but now I think it should maybe be more expensive to keep people from changing their names around too much.

I can think of a way to use minerals! People cant post unless they pay a certain amount of minerals..so this will stop ppl from posting spam!

Well I think that the change user name purchase should stay 500 because even if it was lowered then people just keep changing there names to avoid punishment or spam with it. I only changed my name twice because "once" was when everyone changed there names to Mini and now today was my "second" because now that fad is dumb so I'm back to my original name.
Mini_Boobs_2707 is the only one left now....
But we still need minerals because right now there isnt really to much to do with them accept for games and the magic boxes but there offered as rewards and like Moose and the rest said v5 will put the minerals to better use but right now we still need them for bragging rights!

I agree that changing names should stay the same. when i first got into sen my name was BluEditor, and that was b4 i got into clan Mp). once i got into clan Mp) i had only gained about 36 minerals..I had to go asking ppl for minerals. I would have never got enough minerals to change my name. Maybe it should be that once you get to a certain amount of minerals, the cost of changing ur name changes. so the new ppl can afford changing their names.

Hmm that brings something to mind now. Maybe there should only be a "discount" for users who are joining clans and want there title to incorperate it. Like the person with the permission of the clan leaders would request an admin or global moderator to then grant them a 250 mineral worth title change but only at that time. but thats just an opinion.
