If you dont understand my question heres a better explanation for it

Do you feel that music plays a major role in games? Like what would it be without music? Do you think that while your playing a game you dont notice the music because your so into it? Or do you take pleasure in the music and enjoy it throughout the game?

If you want to answer any of the other questions on the above then post your reasoning.

Personally I've recently noticed the music in games more, after I beat Tales of the Abyss I unlocked a 'sound test' area in my title screen, there was also voice tests for the voice actors. It gives you examples of what they say inbattle/for victory defeat, etc. But there was no background music, it really sounded outta place to me. Therefore I vote yes for my own poll.

Mega Man, Raiden, Castlevania, and a great many other outstanding games would not be quite what they are without the music.

I completely agree. Some of my favorite pieces of music come from video games (Celes from FFVI, for example.) Music can really set the scene for a game, as it can for a movie or for (gasp!) real life. So I vote yes: although it's not a major consideration in how much I like a game, I see music as being very important.

Depends on the music it has. I would rather listen to my own than Starcrafts, but some music fits in good with the mood of the moment. Games that have no plot generally don't need music though...

I agree. I find that music is generally more important in FPS and RPG games because it really adds to the atmosphere. If its an RTS or some other type of game, I'll have my own music playing.

Just as important as music is, conversely, the ambience can be just as important. For instance, in CS, footsteps and gunshots will give away positions of the enemy.

Music most certainly has a super-proportional effect on the moods, settings, and events that take place in video games. Scenes that depict an emotional crisis usually is accompanied by slow and dramatic music, while boss battles range from fast-paced to downright scary. The same exact thing goes for a lot of things, such T.V. shows and movies (some of which are based on games as well).

Music, however, does have its limits -- a quarter of the time, the music playing in many games sets the wrong mood of the current situation, particularly in vital RPG scenes.

For example: Would you have enjoyed the final battle in FFVII just as much if the One-Winged Angel theme wasn't playing?
