As posted here I wouldn't mind a few people checking out this new build and testing it...

PS: whoever finds a bug and posts how to recreate it gets to post a reasonably suggestion wink.gif

DOWNLOAD (New version 17 11 06)

E: If you always want to get the newest build and are willing to test it extensively PM me either AIM or MSN nick and I'll add you.

Fixed bugs (_AFTER_ release):
  • When I maximize the trigger or briefing window the "switches" button don't go with the rest of the buttons but hangs in the middle of screen instead.
  • When I select a trigger while having the window maximized the button becomes unclickable.
  • high bit locations flags not saving properly
  • Custom weapon damage in unit properties only saving the air damage for units that use the same attack for air and ground
  • Prssing enter when using autocomplete in trigedit saves the autocompleted text, clicking anywhere after entering a number saves the new number. Esc still cancels changes.
  • Doodad rightclicking breaking doodad palette
  • Changing player now accepts ("2", "02", "Player 2", "Player 02")
  • Fixed crash with 0 maps open and tileset indexed window
  • New toy: Permanent fog of war...
  • New map -> default trigs
  • char stirpping
TODO:
FOW in Minimap

E: Legacy reported a bug in handling strings with special ascii chars in them (notably chars above 128), which could cause it to become unstable, screw up strings, or crash. Fixed and uploaded new version

E: Now includes slightly updated version of text trigedit, as well as all reported bugs being fixed.

YAY! NO MORE MISSION BRIEFINGS IN STAREDIT! I LOVE SI.

Weird, it crashed when I clicked on the bunker. I did this after placing a doodad and converting it to terrain, if that's any help. It worked fine after I restarted draft.

This one doesn't have syntax triggering. Why??? Most of the time normal trigger interface is better, but sometimes syntax triggering will make things go wayy faster. So can we have syntax triggering back please?

For now use the old version for DW's text trigedit, there aren't any really major bugs in it. This version has plugin interface disabled and classic trigedit integrated, which is why that trigedit wont work

Any idea when this build will be stably released?

And Yayz0rz! no more hitting enter after putting in a number! That used to be the absolute worst part of triggering in SCMD.

Depends on how many bugs are reported and how many I find... the more people use this to test the sooner it is ready (hint go download it and test it). My todo list isn't very long, I am pretty much out of ideas for scmdraft.... theres only 1 larger feature I want to code and thats been planned for over a year, the rest is either done or really minor.

Report, edit, etc...Posted by SI on 2006-10-30 at 19:30:53
some sort of nice brush window that lets you save whats in the clipboard from cut/cop/paste

err, would you mind adding one feature? you know how in staredit, when you're looking at the conditions/actions list and you're typing in the first few letters. classic trigedit does all that fine, but could you make it so you can press enter to select the action/condition? staredit trigedit does that, but classic trigedit doesn't and its a huge pain in the ass for me.

That version you posted up above is bad. It kept crashing on me. It would just happen randomly. I would select the bunker so I could edit it under the units and settings tab, and it would crash. It saved an error report, but I don't know where. It crashed several more times, but sometimes it wouldn't even offer to save teh error report.

any particular map or also with a new map?

Does 0.6.0 prerelease 2 also randomly crash?

with random do you mean anywhere, or only in unit settings? post when else it crashed...

I was working on HorroR's dream, which was submitted for the mapping contest this month. You can find it here.

The previous version didn't crash at all.

It was just anywhere.

Already got it from StormCoast-Fortress and it seems to be pretty straight forward. So easy to use, that is. wink.gif

Too bad is that we still can't a tiny improvement(s) over TrigEdit (and a few others) such as a line counter for instance. Or a string recycle handler process in which you told it what to reuse, for example. *Wink, wink*

SI, can you PLEASE put in 'enter' functionality when you're in the actions/conditions listing?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Shadow-Killa_04 on 2006-11-06 at 00:42:39
Its been working fine for me. I honestly can't tell a difference from the old version except that there are mission briefings. The permanent fog of war thing I haven't tested out but if it is what it's name implies that'll be a nice feature for whatever.

It would be really nice if you could make sure you could just click in the colors like in SF. Perhaps if you also could make a trigger editor like the SF one. I know there is the plugin one but I don't really like it. I understand how your busy and everything but I'm just saying what I think would make it better.

Nope, thats disabled because noone besides DW and I wrote plugins, and we could just as well add it directly to the exe. If anyone ever writes a plugin it will still work in the old versions and if they ask I probably would reenable / update plugin code for them.

I have, I think it may even be linked in the forum on my site after I updated it, I'm not sure tho. I have coded it for sure tho.

I wont be adding click colors, espeically as 1.14 brought in so many new colors you would need 20 different buttons for the colors. I may add a little table to the string editor and the trigger string editor but things like custom unit names, forces, etc there is no room for it.
