I was thinking the other day, that I am already done a 4th of my life if I somehow live to be 80. I know I won't live to be that old because I drink, smoke, and do drugs sometimes. I like my lifestyle, so it's out of the question to change it. I was thinking that because I'll probably be working until I die (pretty much) that there is really not point in saving for retirement. It's kind of what my parents did, and they are proving my thoughts correct. Just wanted to have some input.

Well, I think that it would be rel nice to work for almost my whole life then get th last portion of my life free in be able to do what every I want. I would hate to work for my whole life and just run out of life. I want to work for my life then earn my retirement. I am planning on getting ruch which would make my lfe a lot easier, though everyone wants to just get rich. I want to invent something, get into something with computers! If I were to get rich, I would still have a part time job, maybe a couple days a week of doing something I want, or else I would just get bored!

Life might go slow right now but it's going to be really slow later. It's going fast because you're enjoying it and you let time fly by. You probably are going to die before you're 80, but thats because of your drug and alcohol addiction. But you might also live past 80 with pain on a wheel chair.

Life is the longest thing youll ever do so how is it short anyway yeah thats what my parents have done to but it doesnt help that the auto industry is all freaked up now and its a fight for my dad to keep his job

I remember reading an article when I was in forth grade saying that this years 10 year old will live to 150. This was when I was 11. They say that by the time I get old medicine and technology will allow us to live longer. But then factories growing are also competing against us because they are polluting the air we breathe. SO it will probably stay close to the same, maybe go up a little bit.

I don't think we will have a chance to live to 150 considering the anti-christ and rapture will probably come first .

How does anti christ have to do with anything.

Also I read an article about a medicine that can help labratory mices live longer and live healthier, but they are trying to make it so it works for humans.

I would want to die when I become about 60 years old. But I'm not an egoist so I won't make it happen.

It has to do with it because all the christians will go to heavan while everyone else is going to live with the anti christ so chances of living long is not going to happen.

Just to let you know I am addicted to neither drugs, or alcohol. I know I'm not because I know people who are and I'm much different then them. I don't need stimulants to have fun, I use them when I want to be messed up. The only thing I'm addicted to is smoking. And I know its going by really fast because I'm having fun.

All you have to do is quit your bad habits and you are nearly guaranteed a happy life. The body doesn't take so long to heal at a young age.

Yes, smoking is a bad habbit and when you quit that, no matter how long you have been smoking, your lungs will heal. It depends on how long you have been smoking to decide how much better you lungs will be after the healing. But they will heal. After 40 years, they wont a whole lot!`

For all those who don't wish to live past age X... I'd love to hear from you when you're x-1 years old.

Yeah, unless you get yourself in real trouble, rapidly advancing medical technology could get you well past 80. Artificial intelligence research might increase that by a large amount again. And even if neither of those work, you can always hope for quantum immortality. ;P

I don't want to die, period. I'm not going to die. Death, for me, is impossible. To you lesser mortals, though, I say that life only seems short when you look foreward or look back - while it's happening, it never ends.

Retirement as we see so today will not be the same as we will see tommorow. Social Services is en route to being shut down due to low funding at the current pace, which means a larger percentage of our wage will go into our 401k.

A simple conclusion can be drawn from this, live a less comfortable life in order to retire. Old age has it's inpediments and you can't really do much. You can travel and such, but would you rather have fun for 64 years than the last 20 years in which you have more limitations?

The average life expentacy for humans is 60-77 years. Odd enough woman live longer from 67-88. But hay be lucky you live long.

Some animals live for 24 hours and dead. If flies could talk imagine what they would say to you.

And a galopogoes turtle lives for 175 years. So don't say life is short. If old age doesnt kill us then other forces will or wars.

Your shure not going to live long if you do moonrocks. Maybe instead of doing drugs and drinking give your money to people in poor countries like sudan and bangladesh.

Actually, most drugs aren't that bad for you moderation. Most things aren't bad for you in moderation.

Why do you keep saying moderation, and you also said the same thing twice. I think that anyone that says that retirement isnt worth it, wait until you are 60 after 40 years of working, I think you would want a break for the last piece of your life.

There isnt even a point of saving for retirement unless you want to live a rich fancy retired life. The government pays for the old people.

I have three relatives who lived it up when they were young and now there still laborers at 50 and can't retire. They also said they chose the wrong job choice by choosing a labor job that payed more than a teacher and now their back problems kill them all the time.
