Lawrence of Arabia... Peter O' Toole is God, as far as I'm concerned.
The Great Escape is amazing - Steve McQueen is also God.
The Thin Red Line was awesome. Even though it is 8 years old, it is a great look at WW2 - and it was based on an autobiography.
Schindler's List was depressing as all hell, but very good. And speaking of Spielberg films, I loved Saving Private Ryan.
