What would you do to make it better?
There are obs falling but screenshot dont get it
This isnt the place for this topic but you need more of the sprites
really kind of blocky, and it looks like everything reapeats and is in a pattern, that doesn't happen with water. Plus, it doesn't create the desired illusion of the terrain going upward.
so i would say, put different tiles randomly in the place of those, put the sprites in random order, however covering the cracks, and fix the high dirt on the sides so it creates an illusion
ADD: oh and one more thing, as the water comes out you just have a straight path of water, make it look more natural
Obviously too blocky if you have to use that many sprites on the sides. Doesn't make me think waterfall at all. Try looking up some other waterfalls and trying to mimic them if you really want to make one. They're not that special though, EVERYONE and their cousin has made a waterfall.
Put in some rocks at the bottom too
1. needs rock at bottom
2. needs more smoke at bottom
3. more white lines and randomly placed
4. not just 1 type of terrain on all of the water fall, use about 6 diferent ones
5. less trees
6. fix the land at the bottom so it looks real
7. to make it look like a cliff, do a triple satck of land, e.g. you have dirt at bottom, then high dirt, high dirt, high dirt, not to hard.
id say this is 0/10 over all
It shouldn't be symmetrical, waterfalls are natural
Having the waterfall perfectly patterned screws it up, although I think having a waterfall go straight down in front of you instead of at a slant like most waterfalls do is more difficult, so I won't say it totally doesn't work.
Let me explain what I meant by slant, his waterfall is right in front of you, instead of like most waterfalls where you see them from an angle, making it mor difficult and causing him to have to use so many sprites on the sides. I'm sure an expert terrainer could fix it up a bit, but not that much apart from the pattern of the waterfall
Ya i think it needs more sprites, it looks a lil to plain.
It doesn't seem like you tried your hardest to blend before resorting to sprites to cover up the blockyness.
Always try and make a blend work for awhile before resorting to sprites becuase sprites aren't actually terrian...

It's too blocky, but it's a good start.
Seriously... No offense but just go to the tutorial... SERIOUSLY
Also for extra stuff you need to improve on:
- Un symetricalize it (if your trying to make like your right in front of the falls, make it a bit longer, and spread the tiles out a bit) Mabye ill add screen shot if I can make one in time
- Your Sprite amound = HORRIBLE, too many at the wrong places, consider rocks from ashworld and badlands instead of some random trees (do trees grow in waterfalls now?)
- Hight is also a matter. Waterfalls are naturally HIGH, HIGH, WATER, FALLS, WATER, HIGH, HIGH.
- Please go on Google for help on what a waterfall looks like (type in NIAGARA FALLS)
- Other stuff i dont have time to list
where are the tutorials for map making
lol
i'm not saying that i can't make waterfalls
they're easy lol.
Horribly Blocky, looks more like alot of blue bricks than a waterfall.
Read
this tutorial on waterfalls.
FYI: People are really bored of waterfalls because so many people make them.
