Staredit Network -> Concepts -> Feature addition to SC Tournament?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by yoni45 on 2006-11-19 at 16:01:49
Alright, so I've been toying with this idea lately, but unsure as to whether to actually implement it...

Basically, to some extent, there is a "rock paper scissors" kind of effect in SC Tournament, considering people don't know what others are building, and if their build happens to be a good counter to yours, then you come off with a disadvantage against the person.

What I was thinking of adding, is giving all players full vision of everyone else for say, 10-15 seconds at a time, every 3-5 minutes or so, during the build up period, so people can "adjust" to their opponents build up...

Well, I don't need assistance with the map, nor do I want to show it off, nor do I want to show off maps that are coming up...

It's a concept for my map. I know it's not the "traditional" idea of the "concepts" forum, but I think this is likely the best fit happy.gif

I say go for it!

Atleast you can realize that you forgot to build observers when you see the other dude pumping out arbiters. Besides, terran has an advantage without it because they can scan.

Well, for the record, toss get 1 observer by default and terrans get a comsat by default, although terrans are unable to scan unless they are in battle (0 energy on comsat)...

Your opinion stands regardless though, thanks smile.gif

That being said, can we get some actual votes on the board...? happy.gif

OT Question: If a command center is given to a different player while the workers are, well, working, and they stop, do they automatically get back to work as soon as the command center is given back? (assuming no other CC's are available)

Memories of scv getting back to work as soon as a CC lands back down lead me to believe that's the case...

Giving the CC to another player and back makes all the SCVs lose their jobs. I used that method in a map not too long ago.

I'd say give them a scanner which has like scan sweep cost of 200 or something like that.
