Ghost Hunt - [v1.4]

"Enter in an enchanted mansion, take control of the lights and hunt as many ghosts as you can in 30 minutes to beat the other ghost hunters!"

Specifications

-Players
• 2-3 players

-Map tileset
• Installation

-Map size
• 64 x 64

Introduction

The main objective is to get the highest score by the time the Countdown Timer reaches 0, i.e., 30 minutes. To increase the score, you've got to kill ghosts.

Features

-Player Interface
You start with a Marine and get a Firebat and a Sarah Kerrigan as the game goes on.  These are the units you have to hunt the ghosts. However, these are cloacked, so you first have to get control of the lights (Observers) to spot the ghosts and kill them. Other players can steal the possession of your lights, so try to avoid this to your own and try to do this to others! The house you go through is "enchanted" so beware of doors closing and opening unforeseen. If your units get killed they'll respawn automatically, but players can get points for killing your units, so be careful. Ghosts respawn constantly so they never end. There are two types of ghosts:

- Lost Soul (DT) - 650 points
- Wraith (Infested Kerrigan) - 4000 points

Occassionally, a bonus ghost will appear (Stukov) and if you kill him you'll receive an extra 25000 points. The player with the highest score when the 30 minutes are gone is the winner.

-What's new in your map that others have not done before?
•Maybe the fact that you need the lights to spot the ghosts? (I don't know if this idea's been taken before, you don't need to be Einstein to think about it)

The rest of the map is surely not new from others.

Made with Showcase Template (keep this link to help propagate this template or you get smitten!)

This map was initially an entry for the October Map Making Contest, but due to submission problems it was never entered. As I had been three noons doing it, it'd be stupid doing it not to play it afterwards, so that's why I submitted it here. I don't mind critics, but please be conscious that if it's not as aesthetic as you'd like it to be, it's due to lack of time (so no moaning because there's no colours or sprites, if you don't mind). My intention was to make a simple map with a simple idea, easy to download and useful to play when you're bored and don't want to play a 5 hour RPG. So, if this isn't what I intended, then let me know what to improve. happy.gif

See ya! wink.gif

ADDITION:
If I post this map in a critics forum and I don't receive a single reply in a week, should I think my map's the best and therefore people are speechless and impressed after playing it or should I think my map's so horrible that it deserves no comment?
